i been there 2-3 times liao .... it at 27 jalan buroh... near the round about before jurong island ... it quite difficult to see the 27 cos the main gate not directly beside the main road... from AYE exit jurong pier rd toward jurong island, at round about turn after the jurong island exit , i think it either the 1st or 2rd gate.. there is a few companies inside the compound.. go in the gate go straight all the way the u turn to ur right u should be able to see it.. u give me a call 90028514 if u are going maybe i can go with u cos ntu also quite near

exactly.. that's why i said look at some fairing.. not look for or buy some fairing..

 

if need be.. i'll go there fairingless, then fixed the newly bought fairing and ride home.. :smile:

Yo' guyS! how do u do, APRILIANS!!! Haha!! havin' fun wit ya slow bikez"? haha..slow when compared to a jet i mean...hehe,.,.but wat to do guys, it's e fact everyone must accept: our gp bikes are fast flyers, though they are one of the smallest c.c's. haha. and not forgetting our relative Cagiva Mitos. We two italian jobs have all man, style, looks and performance, compared to Kr, Tzm, Rxz and followed by some other bicycles. They are fast too, when they modify. And then if we modify too? Won't we be fastest? oops sorry faster? haha. yo goody goody! and my naughty little extrema loves to fly. haha.

idea... :thumb: i thought about dat but mine cannot cos my signal lites are fixed to the fairing, unless i go without signal lites... :sian:

Its not how fast your bike can go. Its how well you can handle your bike.

We all love our bikes here, but do ride safely and within speed limits (its hard on our fast bikes, BUT TRY!) Life and license are both very precious. Please treasure them.

still have my gear oil & coolant left... but i sure do need the chain lube... dunno wat's dat for, but it sure sound like buddy for my chain... is dat a spray or gel stuff? :confused:

I wonder if I'll be able to make it tomorrow for DIY and rounding after all. It's the deadest time of the morning, and since 1pm yesterday I've been helping my girlfriend fight a high fever. 39.7 degrees maximum, average 39.5 now. She's allergic to almost every medicine out there. Simple things everyone takes for granted - panadol, most antibiotics, almost all painkillers short of codine and morphine - all cannot use. I might as well be in some village in Tang Dynasty China; All our technology cannot do a thing - go hospital also no use. Can only depend on barley water and wet towels. Impotence, frustration and fear.

 

As I keep watch on her, I might as well distract myself and ask a question I've been curious about: Has anyone bored their RS125 engine blocks? If not, what do you guys know about doing it? Apologies if this has been asked before.

 

I know about boring blocks in general; I'd like to know about the RS125 in particular. Mah says they're bringing in replacement 154cc blocks to mod our bikes, price ranging between $1k and $2k. Nevermind the price, why should we only settle for a 29cc increase if we're using a fresh block? Might as well get as close to 200cc as possible, right or not?

 

I read on some ang moh forum that Malossi (http://malossiuk.com/motorcycles/index.php) offers 175cc big bore kits. Anyone know anything about these? But boring our existing blocks that much may be getting our cylinder wall way too thin. I guess I'm curious about ~150cc boring kits and 200cc replacement blocks.

hmm.. i heard from my mechanic that stock block has nicosil coating that the big bore kit doesn't has.. anyone can confirm on this?

Hi eyz, that makes sense. Although nicosil/nikasil replating seems to be offered at several places in the UK (eg, here, here and many others), maybe it's hard to find here due to lack of demand and high tool cost? Hmm, but perhaps can get around it by getting a new big engine block plated before having it shipped here from overseas. But if it's a kit then it could be a problem.

 

Let me try and figure it out, tho I'm no mechanic: With a kit, you've got to get a workshop in Singapore to physically bore your engine block, then install the kit's parts, so you can't get your block pre-plated with nicosil. I dunno if I've got the process right but if that's it then that explains why big bore kit makers don't simply pre-coat them with nicosil and save us the problems. Maybe JB got workshop that can do the plating?

there r shops in singapore doing nickosil plating just tat not alot.

you got to have the dough though.

had my block re-nickosil and i am very satisfied with the result.

AN650L3 (current): All mod transferred.

SW-T400 (till oct 13): voltmeter, safety features disabled. coocase v36+remote. Adjustable, folding Brake levers. Givi AF318 windshield. on-off switch(pilot light, head light, hazard light), electrical seat unlatch,Dr pulley.

AN400K6 (apr07-dec11): side deflectors, J Costa variator, Dr pulley slider + HiT clutch.

YP250, RVF400/RS250, NSF125.

y dont u name the shops that do the nikasil plating. just saying some shops have doesnt help. some of us here may really need to know where fast.

 

pleasure motors can help us to send our blocks for nikasil plating overseas. however cost quite alot. nearly 1000. u can do it if u got the cash.

 

i dun trust malaysian mech for this kind of plating. how would they know the tolerance level of our blocks when there are not many people there riding aprilia unless they are super rich. imagine rm 18000 for a FN plate and 36k for brand new.

 

there's also alot of people who claim their bike is faster than others but when u ask wat did they do to their bikes, they will say, duno lah my mechanic did it for me. so bike blurr or rider blurr?

 

muser posed a very good question however we wont know wat the advantages are of a bigger bore until we actually tried it. of cos better power but what are the disadvantages ?

 

i overbored my vespa to 175cc. its just 25cc increase in displacement but it gave good pickup and top end. BUT increased fuel consumption, increased 2t consumption, reliabilty problems if u dont get it right the first time. tuning problem if u dont know what u are doing. BUT i still loved it.

 

now if your current aprilia is a toy bike or spare, go ahead and experiment. else stick to stock form and u'd be safe. if u still hunger for power, there's always RS250. more power than u can swallow. all 60-70hp.

 

no offence intended but this is the reality. if u willing to spend up to 2k for the larger displacement block, might as well save it for a proper high displacement ride. u might end up spending more just to keep it in proper riding condition.

 

Not forgetting the legal issues. u know lar singapore everything also cannot.
