your bike is definitely worth more than $2.6K...

Tip-top condition, open throttle only it goes scary fast.

Whoever gets your bike will defo get a damn good deal.

 

For anyone buying an Aprilia, pls try to go with someone who knows the bike. You might be seduced by the appearance of the bike, but could be a Paris Hilton - hot and sexy outside, but just a thrashed up whore inside.

 

Engine- is it burning right? rich or lean? what does it sound like?

throttle- how's the response?

tyres- worn or new, brand and model?

brakes- old or new?

brake pump- functioning ok?

footpeg mounts- any dents, cracks?

fork- any oil leak, scratches, dents, misalignment?

clocks- your speedo, tachometer, digital readout working? $600+ to replace the entire unit

chain & sprocket- worn teeth looks like ridges; new teeth look like waves $170+ new replacements

carb- what size? cleaned regularly?

 

I hate it when people get ripped off because they're too lazy to do their homework then complain about the 'high costs' of maintaining or restoring an Aprilia.

 

There's a sucker getting ripped off everyday. Dont be the next one.

A tip from a friend of mine who used to ride a Replica.

 

If you do decide to get an Arrow for track use only, and you have the technical know-how to swap pipes.... also get a spare carb (in your favorite flavor, size, etc) and tune it for the Arrow.

 

When you swap pipes, swap carbs too. This will save you time in doing tuning at the bike shop.

Its going to be a huge testosterone-filled gathering where all the cocky guy riders meet up to boast about our riding exploits, about how low can we go, how fast we can gas it, and challenge one another to silly races. Basically one mega ego-stoking session that would sicken a maiden like you, if it doesnt bore you to death first. Better that you go watch a play, or hang out by the beach, or try your hand at clay art with your happy tree friend llsm.

Fun as it was i still feel the bike is controllin me, you know what i mean? Must practice... practice!! Ahahaha! Dont exaggerate lah... Was pushing as far out as I dared. Very pressuring to keep seeing your headlight keep up right behind my tail. You caught up so many times, I'll bet you could have gone faster if not for me blocking you.

 

Rem to go with someone whenever you're at 99. Not trying to jinx you, but it's always assuring to know someone can call for an ambulance if you go down. And do look out for road surface irregularities and 5-0.

*Warning* We can expect it to be a tough ride, after all, we won't be going at anything close to 90kph. But i sincerely hope we can all make it there. This guy is one of the pioneers of Singapore motorcycling. Expect a big turnout from the motorcycle community. One of the Mah family has personally asked me for this favour, let's show the Aprilia spirit and turn out in full force ok? A bit embarrassing if so few of us Aprilians turn up.
