Thanks Chung, they were shot with a Canon 50D with kit lens 18-200mm on full manual mode. Due to the good color temperature in Europe (usually about 2500K-2600K) you can shoot 1/2 - 1 f-stop under, retaining the saturation of the blues and greens. If you leave to auto the camera sensor will make corrections to the exposure thus leaving your photos dull and boring.

Try to shoot on full Manual mode to maintain control, and most important is your basic composition and techniques. If you didn't notice, some of my shots have issues with the framing, eg. details are cropped out of the original shot. This is a bad habit I am trying to break.

Also, I tend to overexpose to compensate for backlighting so some of my shots have quite lousy lighting (very harsh contrast). If you're interested we can have a photowalk/ride together where we ride to interesting places with different types of lighting and we can practice together.

For now, you should go for the free photography workshop provided by Canon. It's held at Harbourfront and its free for Canon customers within 3 months' of purchase. It's quite basic but it's a very good start to become familiar with the camera functions. I'm not sure what is taught there as I did not attend it but I heard from pple who have attended that it's a crash course to start on basic shooting.

550D is a good buy. Can shoot HD videos some more! My camera is a dinosaur - cant shoot videos. I'm thinking of selling my 50D to get a 7D. Let me know if you're interested! :D

count me in for any photowalk. Thanks.

Am still wondering and waiting to see the Tuas Beach / Industrial shots.

That 1 boring night we rode to tuas juz for you to snap some pics.

I refrained from commenting on your pics, but yea.. You said it.. The contrast is very strong. But as usual, knowledge in photoshop can help alot.

Hi Aprilia riders,

Due to lack of time, impending commitments and the fact that a bike can only be lay off for 3 years consecutively, I am going to either sell my RS250 or part it out.

Hence, gonna offer this first to the Aprilia riders. I would of course prefer the sale of everything i have accumulated for this bike.

It's a 1995 model and right now, it's in 'dismantled' form. Meaning to get it to pass inspection, you need to:

  1. put back the cylinder top
  2. reinstall cooling system
  3. reinstall carb
  4. change the chain
  5. fix back all handle controls + speedo assembly
  6. fix back brakes
  7. get a new batt
  8. put back the fairing

That, and some cleaning to do, are the bad news. Oh yeah, the end date for layup is in Nov 2010, hence if you wish to fix it you need to get it fixed by Nov.

The good news is all the parts are available with me right now (except the battery), so the bike is complete.

The better news? Besides having all the OEM parts, these are the new or almost new 'trick' parts that I wanted to install or are already installed:

  • Brembo 18x16 master cylinder
  • Showa Front forks from 98 version
  • Brembo calipers from 98 version
  • Woodcraft clip-ons (handlebars)
  • 'special' exhaust valve as fabricated by alex (aka spiderman)
  • Tyga full system
  • Polished rear sets
  • Bitubo rear shock
  • *special!* dry clutch system, fully compatible with the Suzuki-based engine and already installed. "Guarantee to turn heads, only 2 in Singapore!"

Other stuff I have, besides the OEM clutch, forks etc, are a few bottles of Motul 710, misc pieces of fairing/plastics/lights, bolts/screws/clips, even a rear wheel stand. Quite a lot of stuff, as I have previously scraped and part out another RS250.

If someone is willing to buy everthing from me, I will offer a one time special price of $3888.

I will prefer someone passionate about 2T bikes and very much into hands-on and DIY. And have time and dedication to work on this bike. Only then can you appreciate the beauty and reward of this italian beast.

Is this cheap? Consider that the dry clutch cost me $1k, the bitubo $1.6k and the Tyga $900, you're pretty much getting the bike free and paying for the trick parts.

Of course, if there are no buyers (and I won't be surprise actually) I will part the bike and sell it by parts. Definitely will earn more that way but it's more of a hassle.

I can be contacted by hp: 94790437 or preferably email [email protected]

And if you wish to view the bike, it can be arranged but it looks something like this right now:

Wah.. Sad. Alot of lens flare on the 3rd pic..

2nd pic made me LOL! Like Jun said, Your bike really like cowering behind that signboard.

1st pic, we're lucky enough to get some light behind the camera. Can see the green grass nicely. Also, its great that the shot dont seem so noisy.

I've a few shots I took in Melbourne when I was there a few years back if anyone is interested to see.

I shoot in full Manual only.

Plus I also have 2 Nikon 35mm film cameras.

I also have a 35mm film pinhole camera which I constructed myself using cardboard and tape. I didn't want to spend the money to buy a LOMO for the same effect. Will post the pictures taken in Milan with it when I get back.

So, its already June 2010.

Its time to start organising the annual motogp ride up.

Show of hands, who's interested?

I think I found a place to stay for this trip.

Its an apartment somewhere north of KL. But travelling time from the location to Sepang International Circuit is less then 1hr journey.

Very upbeat area, tons of restaurants, eateries, entertainment.

The place can hold 4 person to an apartment comfortably. So if we got 8 people again, can split into 2 apts. Cost is around 80 sgd per person.

For those interested, got a few options la. If got car and car licence, can drive up, wanna ride bike up also can.

I've posted on R125 thread for my buddies there to see and ask if they wanna join up and go together.

okie. lets link up soon. ! are u guys heading for the moto gp sepang? or if u guys next time got outing, let us know in advance so that maybe we can join u all.

all aprilians are loved! cheers. u are welcome!

Few weeks back, I posted about the MotoGP Trip already.. Still have yet to get any response.

Anyone interested mah?

http://www.amishahome.com/home.html

This is the place I was referring to. Its at Damansara, 1 direct highway to / from sepang.
