@priller07 blobbing is like when you open the throttle gas, instead of make the RPM higher, it's went down and make a sound like the machine will turn off.

@Draka yeah bro, yesterday i sent it back to the shop and asked them about this. they said the previous owner took out the air filter and that's why it's happening.. I still don't understand the connection thou -_-

Hi all aprilia riders..

I'm also the new noobs for RS125 2002 model, just bought it second hand last month. N got a lot of problem which i dunno how to solve. My first gear is not working properly, when i open the throttle its just blobbing without any power. Last time i went to park at a hdb parking lot, got an incline ramp over there, cannot went up leh, its just blobbing and got no power to went up even thou put on first gear.. also after stopping from red light, and about to move its blobbing first for about 3 second (powerless) and then back to normal. T.T

what should i do?

hi there, welcome to problematic family. :cheeky::cheeky:

if i were you, wash your carb and valve first, get this 2 item done, and try everything again, you can change a new sparkplug if you like too.

I don't even know if I should be wasting time replying to this.

If you're seeking advice about something you intend to do, we'll tell you what's good for you, what isn't.

If you've already gone and done it anyway without doing your homework first, then what is the point of asking whether its good or not?

OMG.. WASTE MY MONEY!!!! so how??? need to change back to stock???

Bullshit! Don't fool by the wkshop. I m running without any filter.

1. The idle jet or pilot jet size may not having correct size for current setup.

2. Carb might be dirty, clean it.

3. Spark plug may be worn. Change to a correct rating.

4. Valve did not close when moving off. Clean it.

5. Check for valve cable tension setting. Set it.

6. Check engine compression. Piston or ring may need to change.

Do it step by step then you will learn where goes wrong.

Mainly DIY. But wkshop I went is HKL(with Dyno equip one). Sometime is not the wkshop that counts. It is how you explain the problem to the mech and tell him what you want to achieve. If you tell him bullshit, he will give you bullshit too. Do some homework by study about 2-stroke and decise what to do next......

You're very imaginative. :thumb:

Close but no cigar. Sorry but that is only half true.

The bogging is the flat spot when your carburetion is too rich. Too much fuel, too little air, the mixture snuffs the combustion out. Inefficient combustion causes bogging. Fuel consumption is high but you have no power gain because you're losing too much fresh charge through the exhaust.

Has nothing to do with valve operation, which in itself, deserves an entire kopi session dedicated to explaining how it works.

Come for DIY or kopi sessions, or USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION to look for my older posts with extremely detailed explanations on the inner workings of a 2-stroke engine. I don't like to repeat myself. Makes me feel old.

was just stating what i thought i knew.

thanks for correcting me lawrence.

would really look forward to the DIY or kopi sessions.

We parked outside the 7-11 and walked to the mama shop for prata just round the corner from the store.

We then installed our rearsets until about 5am today. heh

Next time join us for makan and DIY? My girlfriend will be happy to meet another Aprilia lady rider.

you guys hang out at RK too?

i go there quite often.

Any lost Legends still around! As this Legend is still alive...!!

IN my books, you were a legend for blowing your engine at 190km/h ONLY.

ANY FOOL CAN HOLD A TIGER BY THE BALLS, BUT IT TAKES A HERO TO KEEP ON SQUEEZING. And I am that f*cking hero...

@Draka yeah bro, yesterday i sent it back to the shop and asked them about this. they said the previous owner took out the air filter and that's why it's happening.. I still don't understand the connection thou -_-

There are 2 kinds of BOGGING, 1 is due to overly rich mixture, the other is due to an overly lean mixture.

When it's too rich, the excess fuel suffocates th combustion, reducing power.

When too lean, the lack of fuel makes the revs dip due to lack of power.

Both displays similar symptoms- you hear a "whump" and the engine gurgles while it struggles under load.

After you remove the air filter the air/fuel mixture will lean out a little bit.

It could also be due to water in the carburetor, or just plain ol' improper riding technique - attempting to move off under 4,000rpm usually puts the engine under a lot of stress as there is not enough power generated.

OMG.. WASTE MY MONEY!!!! so how??? need to change back to stock???

No need lah. If you're happy with it, just leave it in. Next time ask first. Most of us here have made many mistakes with the bike. Learn from others' mistakes because I guarantee you do not have enough money to make them all yourself and learn it the hard way.

why is it when i was selling noone wants it and when i come back everyone has just gotten themselves a rotten egg... wtf??

And good luck to those who just got themselves a rotten bike to ride.

They deserve getting lemons and rotten bikes because they just buy without doing their homework first.

DIY would be where my biggest bet is. teck thye or mezzo would be my next best bets.

I strongly recommend Ah Seng, who works from a space outside Mezzo. Teck Thye is usually quite busy.

I think the delivery man is sending over on foot.

I am looking for a RS125.

Replica version is very much preferred. Otherwise 2003 and before is fine too.

Please let me know if anyone is interested in selling theirs.

PLEASE CALL blast3dGaL.

Yeah, not many Aprilia as the place is usually packed with other bikes. So you'll be in for a long wait if you go to Teck Thye.

Ah Seng is better. Look at all the Aprilias outside his workshop! Clearly, he is an experienced mechanic with our bikes. His speed, expertise and low prices make him popular among Aprilia owners.
