I just traded a few SMSes with Dylan: Looks like they're not interested in us going down officially as a club, though they'd naturally love to have us visit the road show. He also mentioned that he'd especially like to meet up with those of us who were at the procession ride.

So... no need for us to all be there at an exact time on either day, but if we're going anyway we might as well meet up for a kopi or something. I plan to still go down around 11am on Sat, but I imagine you guys will want to try and avoid the noon sun. How about we meet 2pm? Can go Killiney Kopitiam for kopi and kaya before or after. Time and activities open to discussion.

Here's our list of interested Aprilians so far:

What : Mah Open House at Ngee Ann City

Our Aprilias has this "Eeek Ywhk Eeek Ywhk" sound evrynow and then we sit on the bike and when the bike moves along uneven ground...... Think it has something to do with the 'Bearing' or SwingArm?????

It's getting very irritating as the days passes by....... Anybody cares to share the Solution to this problem?????

I hope you guys have had enough of a workout from JUMPING to conclusions, yes?

Squeaking noises from the shock isnt only caused by a blown shock. It could be a simple thing like your bushings are worn, that's all.

Without proper examination, no one here can tell for sure that the rear shock is blown. My rear shock is still working fine, but it squeals like a pig to the slaughter because my bushings are busted and Ideal has yet to bring in new stock (as usual, spare parts from Ideal are less punctual than the British Rail).

So everyone, lets just put a cap on this squeaky issue and leave it to the mechs.

hey guys on gear 6 rpm 5k usually the speed is how much(travelling on non elevated grounds)

Barring clutch slip... your gear ratio is constant.

Doesn't matter whether you're at sea-level, 9000ft, on flat ground, or on an incline.

Gear 6 at 5K rpm will always be at the same speed in all the above places. The only thing that can cause it to vary is clutch slip.

Even the more racing type exhausts don't change that? Hmmm... so then the exhausts just free up more power i.e. to say you get from 5k rpm to 8k rpm faster? is that right?

Aftermarket pipes just shift your powerband around and perhaps allow your bike to reach higher rev ceilings. In the case of the Milo, it restricts exhaust flow such that your RS' rev ceiling is reduced. If I'm not wrong, with a Milo, your max rev can only reach 9K to 10K. Your engine should be able to hit 11K+. So what you lose is top end.

Put an Arrow on, and you can rev up to maybe 12K+. That's why you notice an increase in top speed in the bike.

U can try it. 5K rpm in any gear between 2 different type of pipes. Same speed.

The drivetrain of a bike is like this. Engine -> Crankshaft -> Transmission/countershaft -> Clutch -> Front sprocket -> Chain -> rear sprocket -> Wheel/tyres

Everything here is fixed mostly (as long as you don't chain sprocket sizes). But the clutch is the only variable because it is the ONLY disconnect/connection point between your engine and rear wheels. When it wears out, it will slip. And with it, you lose some speed.

Cool! very enlightening.

Might have to check my tacho then, yesterday was pushing the bike a bit hard and i accidentally kicked it down a gear after accelerating out of a bend... the tacho was showing close to 13k! Think it's not accurate anymore... (can't have been good for the bike though...) and i've got a stock rs pipe...
