anyone used the revtec impedence stabiliser before? read alot of reviews from the thread but they are from guys who ride mainly 4-strokes. any idea what effect it would have on our 2-strokers? I mean, 2-stroke technology is like decades old, and the bike can run even without batteries, so im pretty skeptical abt the effect of a product which merely stabilises and provides a constant voltage of electricity. Nonetheless, if it does have the claimed effects(and im secretly hoping it does) im more than happy to get it.

4 stroke technologys even older =D

Oooo. Sounds like there's a good story behind that statement. Wanna share?

If you're never riding up, how would you go to Pasir Gudang for track days? I ask because I'd rather avoid riding up as well. :D

Haha. Nothing much. Was having my meal beside the mobil petrol station. Saw 2 groups of guys sitting a few table from me. So after my meal, i pumped petrol at mobil. Noticed them getting into 2 cars. After paying, i rode off. Halfway thru before the shell station, i saw them 2 cars pacing up. So i drop gear and shoot for the loop corner to go back to customs. After passing by the old train station and before getting into the small customs lane, the 2 cars passed by and shouted at me. So yeah lucky escape i guess.

I have never been to pG. Plus even if i were to go, i'd rather drive up dude. Safer also. Can't risk any parts stolen. I'd have a major headache. :)

I agree bro. Not keen at all on having my bike vandalised/robbed!

If you drove up, you'd tow your bike? I'm looking at doing a slow start to tracking early next year and am starting to plan how I'll go about it. I remember reading a thread about towing your bike to-fro PG. From PG, I understand it's S$160 direct to your place, or RM80 to Msia Customs (unsure about how trustworthy they are, so would prefer to sit with them in the tow truck). To PG I have no idea. Would be great if there was a towing service that could take two or three of our bikes at one go (so we split the tow cost).

Ouh.. I forgot to indicate that i don't go track at all dude. Sayang my bike. One fall and that's it. I close shop alrdy. :faint:

For 'tracking' u can refer to Shadantou or maybe Subzero. They often go pG. But they ride up straight lah.

Heh heh. Joining Shadantou or SubZero on a track will be like me joining marathon runners for a small 10km run - I'll get eaten alive. I think it'll be great if I could find one or two like-minded & like-experienced (or lack thereof) riders who want to track but not hardcore. Just to enjoy the bike a little more than what is safe to do on roads.

Aiyah don't worry lah. There's always a first time. Most of the guys here are quite friendly. So do tag along with them when they go track. Mostly go track for leisure mah. Not diedie clock lap timing unless u're hardcore alrdy. There's one rider IzeIzeBaby he won trackday with 3rd placing, beating an RS250. Hehehe.. :cheer:

Nothing great about the Ohlins. $1200, and you can get it. And according to many pro riders, it's not that good.. Coz it doesnt have high speed, low speed compression adjustability. Just compression only.

So the pro riders have very sensitive butts that require suspension tuning to be very fine so they need that level of adjustability. :)

You can try other brands, Penske, Bitubo, Wilbur etc.

With regards to this post, i was reading up about the different brands of shocks and i came across a very interesting post(IMO) on a bike forum. This is what a guy said :

Most "normal people" wouldnt notice the difference. I dont htink going from one to another would improve or hurt laptimes unless you are riding on the edge of the bikes performance and need that last .025 seconds. In my case, I need to find and extra 12 seconds, but thats found in my pants in the form of balls and trust of the machinery.

A damn nice shock is a damn nice shock. As long as its set up for your wieght and whatnot, all are very good products.

And yes, I think some can be TO adjustable. I.e. the elka triple clicker with remote preload has like 150 total clicks of adjustment. Youd be adjusting that thing forever trying to find the perfect setup, youd never be able to ride and love it. You'd always be wondering what else can I do...do I need one more click on my high speed compression setting or do I need to take one click out of my low speed compression. But if I do that, do I also have to adjust the rebound to compensate? You could go on and on.

Lets face it, nobody here is a TRUE pro rider and most people(myslef included) the bikes FAR exceed the talents of the clown sitting on it.

You could have every mod in the book on the bike and have a BAD ASS bike, but somewhere there is a guy that can ride a stock one around a track faster than you.

I mean no offense to anyone, but what the guy said above made me smile to myself. I mean, for a guy who just spent a substantial amount to get a brand new(read:im freaking broke!) stock bike and then faced with the magnitude of seemingly endless modifications we could do to our little 125cc machines, it depressed me a little to know that my bike is far from its maximum potential. But what the guy said made me realize that the most important mod is that ecu in our heads(aka our brains), and also for some of us, like me, a little titanium plating on our family jewels down there.

I will definitely say that the clown sitting on my bike right now(me) does no justice to its potential, even when stock. And it makes me feel better knowing this coz i know that all i need to do to become a better rider now is to improve myself, not my machine. Lets face it. Put Rossi on a fully stock Rs and pit him against the average joe with a fully modded Rs, id bet my balls rossi will whoop his ass so hard he probably wouldnt wana race every again.

Again, there is no meaning or anyth to this post. i just happened to stumble upon that guys post and felt that i have something to say about it. and what better place to do so than our friendly aprilia forum, rite? =D

I smiled too reading that. Brings us back to reality. I have no doubt that my bike's capabilities (still in stock form) FAR exceed my own.

Speaking of improving yourself, what's your plan? I mean, there's just so much we can practice on the road. My current plan (subject to change):

1. Improve slow speed maneuvering skills in the next three months or so

2. Read up more on riding books (Keith Code's books are sold at Kino at Taka. I've seen his DVDs and now want to read the material properly)

3. Start tracking in 2011

:) Bet there's a bunch of us checking in to see if anyone updated anything, but not writing anything themselves.

Now that liquidy has broken the ice, I'm joining in! For those following MotoGP and 125, Lorenzo has the fastest time for MotoGP, and Bradley Smith (Aprilia rider) has the fastest time for 125 for today's first practice. Nic Terol (Aprilia rider currently in second place for 125 World title) is at fifth at the moment. Live QP is at 10.45am tmrw on SuperSports (Starhub #202), and live race is at 10am Sunday.

Have a great weekend fellas. Ride safe.

Congrats to Elias for clinching the Moto2 title. :thumb:

Oiiiiiii! :gun::angry::gun:

Just kidding! I'd like to think I'm a Lorenzo fan. It started for a silly reason (my RS is based on Lorenzo's old Spain's No 1 livery, but resprayed to black), but I'm starting to find him intriguing. Lorenzo can come across arrogant but I'd like to think he is misunderstood. Which is why I got his biography on Wed from Kino (Jorge Lorenzo: My Story So Far).

Yea, Elias is cool as well. He has my favorite number - 24. I didn't watch Moto2 with much attention before, but after seeing them in real life at Sepang last week, I'm now a fan of that too.

And it goes without saying Vale is the man. He's just a hugely likeable character. We were sitting at the back straight on race day, and on his victory lap, he stood up and took a bow. What a showman. The differences in personality between him and Jorge is clear from the funny videos below (you have to see Vale's behaviour in about 2.14 in video number 2 - crack-up funny! :thumb:)

Aiyah. No offense too dude. Loved the first vid. Haha!! Anyways, personal preferences mah. Did u buy ur bike off from someone in the forum? There was a guy who posted his RS125 for sale with the Spain's No.1 theme. Think the bike was at AMK Autopoint.

Wish i'd gone to Sepang last weekend man. Was a good race. :)
