Hi Ryan,

I'd like to apologise for letting you make a wasted trip down. We did have a DIY which started at 11.45am and had a turn out of 5 bikers.

Please allow me to explain what happened today. I've just returned from London, and I am still jet-lagged on London time. I was exhausted this morning so I decided to wait at home instead of starting on time at 11am.

As my home faces the carpark entrance, I always am able to hear the distinctive engine sound of Aprilia's pulling into my carpark. My usual practice is to meet the first rider and have him cool down his bike in the void deck while I retrieve my tools from my home.

Today, I heard you pull in and went downstairs. But seeing no one at the void deck nor around my block, I went upstairs to get my tools. When I came down again, I heard you exit the carpark.

After that, the next few bikes started arriving and I thought the first entry and exit was made by one of them who wasn't sure of the location. I was not aware that it was you.

I can pass you my contact, but please only use it for confirmation of DIY's and not for any other purposes.

Thank you and please accept my apologies. I have sent you my contact via PM.

Hi, Lawrence. It was ok. I waited for 5 mins, rode one more round but still didn't find out anyone, i thought you changed place or the DIY was just cancelled, so i left. Not a big deal. :)

Alright guys, decided to share a story that happen to me just now.

Title of the story: Who says a stock 06' RS125 can't outrun a 'sotong' tyre with 34mm carb KRR & SP

Time of event: 0001hrs

Location: After Farrer road towards queenstown

Victim: 10+ KRR+SP

I was mind my own business riding the speed limit 90 on PIE, when i was about to exit Adam Rd, i check my rear mirror and saw a bunch of bikes behind me. I was thinking maybe some meet up or something. Didn't really care.. One by one all overtook me and started blowing their freaking noisy exhaust. After i exit, they somehow surround me with more then 10 KRR and SP (all P-plate). They started to rev their engine like some bike gang. In my mind i was thinking, wtf... all young punks.

Red light at farrer road, I heard one guy riding KRR with 'sotong' tyre telling his friends, " Aprilia cannot run one la, i 'sotong' tyre + 34mm carb will let him smell my smoke in 5 seconds. In my mind again, Farrer road is a hot spot for TP, you stupid or wat wanna race. KIDS.... I thought if i just mind my own business they'll leave me alone. THEY DID NOT. A few of them throw clutch full throttle but I was still riding at my normal speed. They even slowed down and ride beside me rev-ing.

Red light at the cross junction at Commonwealth, decided to try my luck since I'm using all stock, did a normal turn towards Clementi and true enough, all started opening their valve. I kick down a gear, throw my clutch and 3/4 throttle, they smelled my cheap 2t in 5 seconds. They did not give up until Clementi and decided not to play with them already as I feel heart pain for my engine as i just overhauled.

Aprilia lives up for its name...

This story reminds me of a fellow Aprilian.. He smoked a Super 4 coz the latter kept reving at acouple of traffic lights b4.. Sadly for the Aprilian, he got his license suspended..

p.s: Don't bother about all this "Street Racers", we might end up loosing..

1)Yes

2)Yes

3)Yes, probably Lawrence. He did it when he was working at NTrust.

Dont believe the crap that you dont have to run in your bike. I'm seen many guys dont run in, or rush their run in, end up with a piston seizure.

There are afew stupid mechanics who might say dont have to do so, well, I think they're just plain dumb. IF you dont suffer a seizure, you're truly lucky.

Our RS125 is a sensitive woman, she needs to be brought up to speed gently. :)

PS. You dont have to change your balancer gears if it aint broken. :)

My bike vibrates violently at high rpm. Even at normal cruising, my hand will feel numb after riding. :(

i adore the rs125 n mito and i wanna get either, but i need advice as im still completing my 2b. roughly how much is the servicing for rs125 and how often is it? also, i tried calling this Mah pte ltd but keep getting a non existant dialtone! anybody knows the price of a new bike or knows any trustworthy 2nd hand seller. particularly interested in the latest model as i heard its higher, and that probably helps cos im 180+ in height. anyone forsees major issues with my height n the bike?

thanks in advance to the wonderful community here.

Your conrod new

New bike is about 14.4k not sure with insurance etc or no. Ask for free arrow exhaust if you're getting from mah, you would get a 06 for about half that price. 1.8 no probs I believe probably tall enough to flatfoot on the bike. MaxS is about that height too.

dont bother getting an original key ... waste of money .. go to soxxi @toa paoyoh or some other outlet make a slica key... anyway slica is also made in italy i dont think it makes a diff and it feels solid too.. damage $10-12 for that key ... alternative u can get a lower quality key at 6-8$.....

mito and aprilia both are nice bike. come to think about it mito might be like 15yrs 16 old already. unless u are talking about the new sp525. parts will generally be hard to find. i'm 1.6 and i can balance the well. 1.8 confirm no prob.

Hi all, how does a nicely tuned slow jet feel/sound like.

Did what I felt was the best setting earlier today.

With my rpm needle almost flat on the 1k mark, the needle is irresponsive sometimes during early revs.

Obtained better throttle response, a little turn will now push my rpm up by 1k more, as compared to earlier. I leaned out the mixture so much it doesn't stay alive without a hard rev on cold starts.

My earlier clutch issue with the engine stalling if I throw clutch too fast has been minimized if not eradicated.

It can barely handle half clutch moving now, always have to be on the throttle to move off, but I like the smoothness of the launch now.

When the winds resist my impetus and sights become passing shadows. Every other sound is voided, all but the undeniable roar of my engine.

My physical vision recepts naught, but my mind is tranquil.

I see my inner soul.

^5 im 188CM last checked. well it aint an issue. just that the geometry of the bike might be slightly off. but being 188 and about 85 kg , this bike sure can damn well move my way so i`d say +1 for the rs 125:D

Derbi gpr 125 is a 4stroke bike and is almost impossible to find a 2nd hand for it. There isn't a community for it so you will be all alone with little feedback abt the bike and workshop. So unless you are very rich, willing to buy first hand, able to endure getting overprice parts, the slow speed and pickup, do not get this bike.

And you mean mito 525? The market is also quite small but still much better than the derbi. The reason ppl prefer bike which has a huge market is due to increased competition in the market thus pressing workshop and parts prices down.

Overall, i would still go for Aprilia Rs125 or Daelim R125 (Its also another bike with thick tires and its around 9K OTR price) or sth else cheaper.
