All these are claims! I'm waiting to see proof! :)

Mr Nge, have you replicated the wiring harness yet? Hehehe.

haha... basket! My bike is terribly out of tune right now!

Boggy, flatspot, dies intermittently, fouls the plug, etc. Everything that can possibly with wrong with the tuning is wrong. I'm having a huge headache now man...

Keep talking smack and I'll unplug your 2T inlet hose then you know.... haha

Larry, any updates on the Metrakit radiator from Gabriel of Sporting Motors? The radiator is used by both the Metrakit Mini GP XL, and the XL80R, the part no is 810K0502.

Also, I need one more K&N air filter for the Aprilia Tuono 1000 asap. Bike inspection due in a coupla days...

Thanks

Whats next? :) Any photo or web to show? :cheeky:

Stainless steel so it stays corrosion-free (no more unsightly rust on your exhaust!), thinner and lighter than stock, better fitting onto stock mounts than Tiga's stainless steel exhaust.

More segments (like Jolly Moto and Jim Lomas) hence smoother flow than Arrow/Gianelli, additional sleeve inside the header to prevent spent charge from leaking, unlike most stock exhausts and Arrow/Gianelli exhausts, which leaks after a while and had oily, dirty stains dribbling down the exhaust from the header.

Performance wise, more torque on the lower revs, but same peak at top revs as Arrow and Gianelli. Slightly higher fuel consumption than my previous Arrow. Arrow = 25km/L; stainless steel exhaust = 22km/L

Hey bros. I got a friend who owns an aprilia for already 1year plus where he bought it 2nd hand. Its a spain no.1 version. However, he told me that his piston seized 4 time already. He just did an overhaul last 3 weeks back and yesterday his piston seized again. When i asked him, he didnt rev it hard. He was at 110km/hr at 9000rpm. He already full re-build ie, new blok, piston, con-rod, balancing gear but still got seized. What may be the problem?

I rather race with class than lives.

Theres alot of reasons why the piston can seize. Since you mention that he did a full rebuild then im guessing the problem is probably bad carburation. He might have been running too lean. Ask him to check the spark plug. If its a whitish colour than chances are hes running lean. Another thing that he can look out for is the 2T. Is he running premix or autolube? If autolube check the pump setting. If premix ask him to consider increasing the 2T ratio.

Actually our engines are not that fragile lah. U see those race bikes which rebuild every other race. U think they go do run in? Running in helps to prevent premature wear by allowing to parts to "bed in". But i really doubt that improper run in will result in engine failure in such a short time span(he mentioned 3 weeks bike seize).

U still havent got ur tuning right ah bro? Btw sry couldnt make it yesterday. Had to work overtime.

Are you taking a dig at me?? Haha. Basket. unplugged 2T hose is NOOO JOKE. lol.

Hi Matt,

I've got a better exhaust system, so selling the JL, which has served me well, including evening out the flatspot, and giving me peak power at 12,500rpm, and even allowing me to hit 200km/h in Malaysia (clocked on onboard speedo; 185km/h GPS speed).

Wow, what can be better than your JL. Got lobang, bo intro. :p

Hmmn, looks familiar eh.

You're running it with which endcan?

Didn't expect it'll perform better than the JL.

Tuning problems happened after the exhaust was fitted or its due to something else?

Made the mistake in chaging my carb and exhaust together, now am unsure it its due to the carb or exhaust.

Am experiencing the same out of sorts tuning as you right now.

Forgot to plug back your 2T hose after DIY-ing your bike?

Sounds very familiar. Haha

Been riding for 2days now. I would say that this bike is dam fast. Currently engine running are in so the max i went was 80km/h. Aprilia 80km/h is like TZM 100-110km/h 0.0

haha glad ur enjoying ur ride =) ugh, now i've got a leaking prob... always finding a small pool of oil under my bike at e start of my days... checked wif my mech n since it does'nt smell like 2t, its either e clutch housing or e gear box... im hoping its e former cuz e latter would mean i'd have to drop my whole engine juz to fix e prob costing 600 over bucks...

just went to pasir gudang today... i must say track is really a whole new experience for me... very tiring... and i guess not too bad for a 1st timer to get his knee pad scar-ed by the track today.. looking at the burned tires n scared kneepad its just a satisfaction to me... those who have not tried please try.

i have one silly question, does premix affect the fuel consumption? i mean is there any direct relationship?

nope, only affects 2t consumption. u use more 2t when u premix, however, u can also vary e amount of 2t to ur tuning

Actually, depending on your 2T premix ratio, you can reduce your 2T consumption.

Because you are premixing 2T into your fuel, lubrication will be consistent and fail-safe, therefore allowing a lesser amount of 2T to be used, while keeping the combustion cleaner.

Excellent news bro. How many ppl were on the track with you? How long did you go for?

I'm thinking of going this Thursday. Finally received all the items I was waiting for and have no more excuses! Anyone keen on joining? I'd want to get me and the bike towed up.

(@personified): Would the towing option be available for Thursday morning, Larry? If so, can you PM me the cost and whether you'd join?

@lacrimosae: What say you, lac? I read your post about the bike being under the weather. Does this change tracking plans?

well done dude!!! n u actually scrape yer knee slider on yer 1st time on track ...frickking awesome!!!

and did u notice any wild boars or monkeys or cobras or monitor lizards??? hahaha

yesterday a black pig rammed into a Ducati 1098 and the black pig was left bleeding on the tarmac and i was on my Daytona exiting outta of T5 and saw a big black pig right on my exit line,i had to sit up my bike n swerve, couldnt do it in time my front grazed the black pig n i used my right feet to try kick her outta of the way, the black pig didnt bulge but my bike wobble, i manage to control n rode back to the pits.. discovered my boot had slime, bile and splatter of blood on it and the whole lower cowling of my bike were grazed, damn super scary moments...

also there was a Bel-Ray sponsored RS125 with practically nothing except engine n fairing on the bike, heard its 150 with race magnets and all...guess that will be 1 awesome competitor for my RS for the next SMSA race... pity i didnt have my RS125 with me or i could have tested against her.

As you say bro, tracking will be tiring. I'd rather keep my energy for track work only. Plus it keeps needless kms off my odometer and saves me worrying about riding back home when I'm shattered after tracking. :)
