Bearings can use plastic or rubber mallet to knock in but must be dampened with a wooden block. The wooden block also helps keep the bearings perpendicular while it is being worked in gently. Heat guns are not absolutely necessary but are good to have. Not that they would actually help that much.

When I did my overhaul I never thought of doing a time lapse video. Now the technology makes it easy to do so... Could I come and watch? and set up my tripod to do time lapse photography then edit it into a video. It would be so cool.... Plus I could help in whatever way possible.

I can do with company around. Will let you know when all the parts arrive. As of now, only left with Asso Werke Piston, Heat Gun and probably some hardware tools.

Going to strip the bike and rejet at 2pm. Might be going at it for 1-2 hours.

Anyone keen to drop by and have a discussion with me (ie. keep me company), feel free to drop by but do sms me first in case I've called it a day and left.

Btw Vik, here is the link where I got my lockset (ignition, tank and seat)

http://www.bike-spares.co.uk/

Thanks for the link, but cant seem to find the items in question. Can you send me a direct link? Much appreciated!

PS. I'm interested to see Liquidy do his complete overhaul too. :)

It'd be cool to have a step by step photographic guide if you're up for doing it!

Yes, that's the reason why recently have been eagerly reading up, watching videos and once my exams are over, i'm gonna mug the haynes manual like a bible. What worries me is the lack of tools such as fly wheel puller, many different sizes of O rings, specified oils and heat gun.

I can't justified the price for the labor to stripe open the engine as it literally equates to a new 34mm Carb from pjme. Furthermore the knowledge that comes along with it, priceless.

I have a copy of the ultra rare Haynes manual for the RVF/VFR. Was super tedious to read though. You ordered the Haynes from PJME?

It's here, can i read it? :)

Thanks mate. I was damn pissed off trying to find it coz i didnt find anything to do with Aprilia on the site at first. Must go thru few pages to find. Stupid website.

Can Mr Lawrence clarify if this is the correct lock key set for the replica model? coz it's stated for 99 to 06, but it's supposed to be different from the y2k model onwards. :)

Hahaha... Well, I emailed them and called them to ask if they had the lockset for the 1996-1998 models. They said they do. So I took a gamble and ordered. Anyway, it's £70 for the older 96-98 lockset, and its not original parts. But what I want is for all 3 locks to be opened by 1 key, so I took my chances. Worse case scenario if it turns out the lockset is wrong, then you can save yourself the trouble to order from them.

Do you have the link to the carbon fibre frame casings?

Thanks for the link. Very nice but can't afford them at the moment....

Have placed order and paid about 1 month ago. Still chasing them, still getting the same ole sh|tty responses.

VERY SLOW. Just checked my invoice £70 for the lockset includes shipping.

You forgot to mention the new model calipers front and rear.. :)

They're stock Aprilia parts so no need to mention... I only include aftermarket bits.

How much u got the pigspotter bro?

$200 but they're extinct as they have been out of production since 2009.

Max, i think the cause of your FC to be high is due to your reving. You told me you play till 12000rpm. Higher RPM play= Higher FC. I guess?
