i use shell 98, can't be bothered paying the extra for v-power. seriously there are tonnes of reports that tell u pumping with anything more than the recommended petrol (e.g. Ron95) doesn't give u less maintenance problems or a cleaner engine. Just gives u less mileage because of the additives that burn more petrol per spark so probably that's why u'd feel more power going through, but it isn't going to make ur regular maintenance any less problematic. i may wanna try 95, when my aprilia warranty is up :-)

cheers to all aprilia...btw am i seriously the only tuono owner? *sigh* is it really that ugly compared with the rs125? i kinda like it myself, but it seems its only me.

wow dude! ur riding a tuono! power!~ :cheer: :cheer:

i've jez got my license a few dayz back n the tuono is one of the bikez dat i may consider getting.. i like the half sports/half street feel of the bike. haf u pics of ur bike? and yeah, is it as big as the other 2b aprilia bikes? coz im like 1.86m tall n aprilia bikez r abt the largest 2b sportzbikez (and the tuono)i can find.

and r there any 2nd-hand tuonos in the market? how much wud a 1st/2nd hand tuono cost? fill me in on anyting i need 2 noe abt the tuono man!! :cheeky:

could it be the swing arm of the tire is slanted??

not straight and when acceleration the tire instead of moving in a straight line,

it goes wayward?

well i love the bike, its looks its power, but i must say its quality built still can't be bikes coming out from the japanese factories.

i hope u join the aprilia family too, last time the price was $8xxx machine price, and that's without all ur taxes, coe, insurance, iu, number plate, just plainly the bike price alone. The rs125 was $9xxx

if u wanna buy an aprilia from them, just go to Jeorj at mah pte, he's a really nice guy and explains most things clearly, don't go looking for the other salesman, you can tell jeroj i introduced to you, he'd be happy to talk to you.

weight wise, its kinda light, only 140kg, even the small cbr150 is already at 125kg, they made it light to give it more power, its only a 125cc.

yupz i also think its unique, but i'll caution you that when u buy u'd better stick with it for a long time and don't even foster the idea of upgrading within 2+ years or u'd regret buying it as you'd know depreciation is super fast for aprilias. SO make sure u maintain it regularly, service her regularly, clean her regularly and when problems come up don't cry and just understand its part and parcel of buying an aprilia.

Better to be loved, than to hate...

oh and one more thing, aprilia is not known to go well with newbies on a p-plater, so be warned. The power of the bike sometimes can throw u off if ur not careful.

forget about the rear brake light la

i have this problem too, i think it's a design problem la, after fixing a while it'll come back i think

everytime i brake i tap my front brake lever so as to warn others

um, btw anybody got a used 34mm carb for sale?

hey ok i got it fixed, probably contacts rusted or something, basically i took off the sleeve and gave it a super duper wash with wd-40, basically i think i sprayed half the can on both the switch and the 2 wires. at first nothing happened still, so i let it soak as instructed by the can and not wipe it off, about 2 hours later, my brake light is back to normal =)

cheers, thanks guys

rear brake lever there, its in the manual... basically just on on top of where the rear brake fluid line ends, right next to the heel guards. There's this black sleeve which you can pull of and there u'd see two electrical connections. the wire is green and green/yellow. I sprayed the connections with a lot of wd40 as i noticed a bit of discolouration. let it soak don't wipe off then connect back. wait awhile and it works.

the wonder of wd40, and the pathetic-ness of italian built machinery. Much like how alfa romeos keep spoiling on the road too. My rear brake light now got blown though..saw the bulb made in france.. no wonder everything is so expensive..sighs

ok just when my brake lever now comes on, my bulb blows.. went to alexandra village nobody seems to sell 21/5W as stated in the manual all sell 21/6W went to so many shops finally went into asphoon and they do sell 21/5W for $1

anyone know wht happens if u put in a 6W bulb? will it fry anything ?

Hi guy, damn man, while travelling today, suddenly my bike stop and engine just switched off just like that when I halt at the red light. I started the bike again and again but it just won't start. Then i realise that the petrol tank maybe empty, switched to reserve still cannot start. But after sometime the bike manage to start. Millaegue was then 150km..did you guys experience that before?

Is it due to wacking the bike too much to cause the petrol consumption to be so high? or is the tuning that is wrong?

Lastly how many litres is the full tank and how many litres is the reserved?

kaka

before I send my bike for overhaul, i too experience klut klut sound..

not exactly metal rubbing sound..

hope it's the gear oil and not conrod or piston ring loose..

I think the problem lies with the empty tank..

cos when you ride until the bike stops running with the fuel switch at "ON"

that means all the petrol in the pipe and carb is already gone..

so you need to take some time to get in start..

next time try pulling your choke a few times before starting your bike..

my old Y2K used to have this problem and I have problem restarting it even when

I pull the choke a few times..

but it will still start after some time..

and my current replica... it's even worse.. the reserve is fake 1..

i don't dare to run until reserve, my bike will not start when the petrol reach

reserve..

Grey, try to gauge when you hit reserve, so in future you won't run into this kind of

problem again!

from my manual, Replica model fuel tank has a capacity of 13L with 3L of reserve

and Y2K 13L with 3.5L of reserve.

but best is still see the mileage lah..

and lastly, different riding style will have different in fuel consumption too..
