I kana tiok suan! But seriously, this should be a warning to those who want to modify their bikes - Andre's bike is stock (28mm carb, RS pipe system, etc). It is indeed possible to tune your bike to find a "sweet spot", even with modifications, and get great fuel economy. Others have done it. However, there's a much higher likelihood of getting worse fuel consumption, like in my case.

About my riding style: I almost always open valve (usually up to 9k rpm) in every gear except 1st, regardless of where I'm riding. On highways, I cruise at 8k rpm in 5th, except when I'm worried that I've been doing too much riding with my valve closed, in which case I cruise at 9k rpm in 4th.

Dun stop there, might as well follow Edmund and get air burner and air valve too, heheh.

Wow! Hearing that makes me want to ignore the risk of my valve jamming and cruise at 5k rpm on PIE.

personally, i think the carb, pipe and reed valve are the few mods that will give ya the most increase in hp...

anything else would be very minimal..

air valve and air burner...

mayb can trying removing the air box and valve and fix a plate to seal off the exhaust valve port..

Hmm... why would you want to seal off the exhaust port for? i don't get you.

Always be prepared.

umm not the exhaust port...

mayb wat i typed was a bit ambiguous...

it's the valve opening i'm refering to..

remove the valve and seal off the opening...

in that case, ya'll suffer quite a bit of low and mid end...

Actually my riding style is pretty much the same as urs. I always open valve from the 2nd gear onwards cos I scared that the valve will get jam. My cruise is usually 8k rpm in whichever gears depending on the speed limits of the road. But I still get 260-280km. There was once I even hit 300km before I need to switch to reserve. The funny thing is I usually never service my bike unless something is not working. Like getting harder to hit neutral gear, time to change my gear oil etc.

Lawrence should be around at AMK also? Maybe can ask him to come along? Actually I have no idea what services does his shop provide besides stickers (which I know got 800++ to choose from). Full servicing of the bikes? Anyone been there to service their bikes and any feedback? How much for a normal service like clean the carb, wash the valves and change gear oil etc?

HAH! Finally managed to get on the internet! woohoo!

By the wayi have a problem.....traffic jam on a slope so i used my rear brake to stop mid way ( hand cramp liao) After that i find pushing the bike extremely difficult....how difficult? The R1 in front of me can tell you about my push n swear technique :giddy: By the time i reached woodlands the rear disc brake was so hot....a drop of water evaporated of it in about 2 seconds n i could hear popping sounds from the expanding metal :weep: By then i have already suspected that the rear calipers was stuck so i let the disc brake cool down n then proceed to pry them open with a screwdriver n it worked so now no problem. My concern is this....what exactly is wrong with my rear brakes to have caused this to happened? Air in brake lines? Worn out brake pads?

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
