Hey guys, I finally got my bike back from the workshop again...... Apparently I've got this problem with my carb - it tends to flood...... and my water gets into my fuel tank. damn depressing to hear of such problems...... and my valve broke!

So, anyone got good solutions to these problems?

Btw, I've heard about the Aluminum valve, any idea where I can get it?

lastly, anyone got advice on changing the Milo exhaust? Is it recommendable?

-Ed-

carb flood is most prob there is a air bubble in the floating pin ...if u jus get back from workshop , its time to change a new mech liao..

usual valve is aluminium valve... the special one is Steel valve.. ard 2-3 times heavier than the aluminium valve.. original first hand ard $140 at weida

change exhuast can derestrict ur max rpm from 11k to any rpm u dared.. 13k to 14 k wit arrow no problem ... valve also wont break so easily...

Any Aprilians living in Yishun?

I came back home at around 12am last morning and saw this sweet ass Aprilia behind my block. I actually wanted to snap pictures and touch the bike to get a "feel" but there were a couple (i think), sitting at the void deck, with two helmets on the table. I assumed that Aprilia belongs to them, seeing its the closest bike parked towards them..

yishun at most ard 10 aprilia , i know 1 is at blk 230+ , me at 600+ , a FW rs250 at 200+ opps north point , pepsi design also at 200+(indian guy).. but i dun personally know any of them ... think also got a yellow stock paintwk Y2k gal at yishun..

Becareful of the steel valve, the cable that pulls the valve will break.Weight plays an issue, the best is you get titanium valves( no kidding).

Something interesting for you guys.

If only its in production and 50cc less, qualify as class 2a

Always be prepared.

ben , tis is where u are wrong..... weight not an issue here... u dun seem to play a lot wit ur valve... ur valve can be jammed dead and impossible to take out by hand no matter how long or how much strength u used ... yet the valve motor can still pull open the valve easily w/o any damage to either cable /valve... only in rather extreme carbon build up the valve will break... if anything will to break i rather cable break cos only $20+, but sad to say cable is stronger than valve neck , u will understand wat i saying after breaking a few valves...

Posted

u mechanic ley different from us normal folks....

plus i believe u not using milo rite .. milo will have a tenderancy to break valve dun why...

so far with my arrow, my valve haven fail on me yet, only slightly chipped at the ring...

2t and fuel intake plays a very big part, if use big intake, the carbon wont stick to valve cos it will be wash away by the unburn liquid(2t and petrol) , but ur exhuast will spill out liquid black stuff, the valve very easy take out... if use lean setting ,save $$, but carbon tends to harden very fast and need to clean very very often to prevent the valve from jamming/breaking.. the quality of 2t and petrol also play a part...

the above conclusion is from my experiments wit various intake level from very lean( 1L -2000+ km) 2t setting to very heavy setting(1L-

but no matter wat setting make sure u know whether got enought 2t intake or later piston jam dun blame me...

Yup Vik, on normal working hours and it feels real good, although it means I've got less time in the day to run errands and hang at NTrust. Looks like I'll be joining the weekend rush at workshops again :giddy: But that does mean I should be able to stay longer at meetups, heheh, although eventually I will be doing a few night shifts every month.

Yah, valve breaking, especially repeatedly, is usually cuz of wrong adjustment.

Argh, I'm getting itchy too!

More people airbrushing their Aprilias makes me also wanna. Not so soon though, or maybe I'll just start with my single-seater.

Yup, I replied to your mail right after I received it - it's simply amazing, I can barely believe I have it. Thanks so much Chin Kuan!

:offtopic: I just had some kopi at work - I think I would simply die without coffee, or worse, fall off my bike  Best not to ride when tired, but 2nd best option is to ride caffeinated, kekeke!

Haha, edwin you are wrong, i do play alot with my valve. My valve just got jammed two weeks ago, had to use a screw driver and alot of wd40 to push it out. Cleaned the carbon stains and polished it with autosol after that, alot of difference. I still believe the cable that pulls the valve neck is not that strong, there is a reason why original valve piece is made out of lighter weight metals.

Anyone game to meet up tonight for mini kopi session?

West side area...

Always be prepared.
