TIGTHEN CHAIN: does anyone know how to tighten their chain here, and possible to be done without the support stand? all i have is a car jack

I have been seeing alot of aprilla of late rs125 models la. Are they still in production? Any 2004 version? :confused:

bernard, you should refer to the manual, it has quite a clear explanation on how to tighten your chain.. i guess you dun need a jack..

my bro did it for me before and he did not use a jack...

 

Grey, cannot see leh! at least should take a full view of you bike mah...

no head no tail.. some more so dark...

 

i think the camera is of good standard.. but the photographer...

yah there are...

i'm not sure how much a new one would costs... but roughly around 10k??

it's quite a expensive bike...

 

maybe you could get a 2nd RS 125 and later when you get your 2A, you feel like

continue riding Aprilia, mayb you can get a new RS 250.. that bike is out of production now..

it's a mean machine.. able to achieve a top speed of 240, easily smoking all cl2A

bike.. hee and it's worth to keep it...

 

anyone beg to differ?? come on, flame me!

hey guys, my bike seems to be dripping oil. Black oil. its only occuring on one side, the right hand side.

 

since my bike is fairing-less i can see pretty much where its coming from. Its where the front sprocket guard there, the oil seems to be flying all over the place, practically covering my rear wheel in oil. Thing is, the oil looks brownish-black. looks very much/smells very much like the maxima chain wax i'm using, but it has never happened to me before. And the oil seems to be A LOT, i don't think i sprayed that much on my chain and its definitely not my first time lubing the chain. anyone wif any ideas? or do i have to bring it down to the shop lieow.

hmm due to the recent rains, that wax u been using has built up and formed a black yucky residue. thats why sometimes i use wd40 to remove the old wax n lubricant b4 lubing it again.

 

Shouldn't be a problem though, just soak with WD40 and let all the yucky stuff flow out

then re-lube

 

If you confirm that it is your wax, it should be okay. anyway better do it fast la, bad weather plus waxy tyres are not very rider frenli

ok thanks fibre, i'll go clean out the chain guard and see how it goes, tyre needs thorough cleaning.btw heard its not good to use wd40 but kerosene better.

 

sting: yep same as rs125, u mean u took out the entire chain to clean?

soak in petrol, den use brush to brush off dirt, okie liaoz lube and put back~

if all the engine oil drips away and you run your engine...

you're gonna be in for a big time liao...

hey yo-z...yea i'm keeping my engine oil in check, pasted a muskin tape on the oil level. if its going then than :giddy:

 

on the surface its smell/look like chain lube, but than again, my lube is a wax and definitely not so watery like it is now. and definitely ain't my first time lubing my chain.

 

i'll wait for the next few days, and see how, need to bring my bike in for 8000km service soon anyways, so will check it out then.
