Hi guys ! Yah i been up here in Lumut & to and fro to Bukit Kayu Hitam at the border and it been raining quite bad. Mostly afternoon and early night. So be prepared. The prediction from locals is more rain - due to change of monsoon. So do beware of slipery roads after flooding and also blockage due to landslides at camerons roads.

After much deliberation, research and asking around - I finally settled on a '08 FJS (or more like charcoal wing, coz it is gunmetal in color!) - REALLY A BEAUTY and thought I'd share some 1st impression here. Pls do not mind the number of pics

Collected my bike from shop y'day (190909). Am damn excited about it coz it has been >10years since I bought a brand new bike.

First impression when I started the scoot "Is the engine running?" - the engine idle sound was very quiet! Even when I moved off - it was very quiet - and the only sound I can make out of it was similar to that of a single-propeller light aircraft engine!

Moved off to pump some petrol. After a few stops at traffic light, I noticed I can rest my foot very much closer to the scoot - kudos to Honda for the ergonomic design of the "foot-board":

Loved the mirror construction and viewing angle. Eliminates most of the blindspots. Glad to have the new-IU too.

Shop threw in a nice 46L Kappa box:

Did not like the idea of having the plate drilled, but the box fitted nicely:

1st time using Kappa and discovered that it is not bad. There are tiny screws for the plate-cover:

Loved the left-box compartment. It is deep and lockable!! No more fumbling passport from my jeans during check-points.

Parking on main-stand is even easier than my prev X9:

Brake disc (rear) first wearing:

My scoot comes with IRC SS-530 as stock tires:

Rear tire:

Stock Rear tire size: 150/70-13 MC

Rear tire age: Apr 2008 (1408)

http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e297/chaoSq2/SilverWing/TireRearDSC00375.jpg

Stock tires MADE-IN-JAPAN:

Front tire also mfg in Apr 2008 (1508):

The only thing I was not too happy was the deep small scratch just on top of the left-signal-light. But did not mind it later compared to the "newness" of the scoot.

welcome to the club chaochao, you managed to sold off your fjr already?

btw, saw the silverwing GT at Looi's.. Smaller glove compartments. But there's something different about the swing arm... hmmmm..

btw, anyone going overseas for a week or so, and can let me borrow his seat?

I intend to send my seat for rewrap, and I probably have to leave my seat there for a few days at least....

U too rich huh? The original seat skin is the Thickest & the best. U CAN'T get the same thickness anywhere else.

And if u. Borrow the seat from someone, then that someone use wat to cover his under seat? Unless u can find someone who rides a Silverwing but stays in a landed property.
