scared of regretting too....tink gonna ride for some time b4 deciding. Actually footing wise is same as my kup...just that SW weight make me nervous.

IMO, better not to slice the cushion coz the layer below our buns is quite thin, unlike the normal bikes. after slicing, the cushion could be too thin to cushion our buns and most importantly ping-pongs comfortably, especially when riding long stretches or going over humps/rugged terrain :p

dun worry, come join our gathering n see how much i tip toe when seated on the SW. if a 1.61m skinny old man with short legs can make it to wet wet thailand, up the genting/cameron highlands and back safely, i bet you'ld be able to do the same... just need to get used to it :thumb:

btw, dropping the SW is nothing to be ashamed of, heart-aching though. many of us have gone thru this special "run-in", just pick it up and laugh it off when we talk about it lor  rider safe... most importantly

Avoid reversing.

Otherwise, move forward a bit from your seat to where it is narrow then no need tip toe.

that's what i do... avoid reversing, always park with head up

when need to work harder on reversing, i will either dismount to push or "step down" (both feet on the ground and tank between the legs) and push the bike backwards using my backside... looks funny but it works

scoobydoo, care to share your experience in tuning the SW400....?

hmmmm... how to share... hmmm?

i've posted much info on that at the Tech thread (do take a look), but best is to see and learn. join us for the gathering, SW9000 the tune master or myself can show you how it is done.

if you want the "carbtune pro" gadget, can either buy online yourself or from me as i still have a spare brand new 4-channel set

other than age, price depends on whether buying from motortiam or owners (recommended, better still if you know the bike history), JDM or Euro (better FC) and condition of bike, etc.

cannot anyhow suggest price here in case kenna flame jialat jialat by potential sellers... but fact is some 1~2 yrs old good conditioned euro SW were transacted around $8+k~1$0+k recently. so if someone try to sell you a 4~5 yrs old SW at that price, you judge whether reasonable or not lor... guess i better stop here :p

the most basic servicing for SW are:

belt/rollers/u-clips... $220~$300 depending which shop

tyres... $165~$285 depending on brand/shop

2x sparkies... $10+~$40+ depending on type

eo/filter & trans oil... from $40+~$100+ depending on type/brand

SW is a very easy to maintain touring maxi-scoot :thumb:
