how long have you not change engine oil, oil filter & gear oil?

i change them every 5k or 3+ months (whichever comes first) coz usually feel bike is not so smooth around then. many pp say full syn can go further but i'ld prefer to stick to the easy to remember 5, 10, 15, etc schedule... pay a little more but enjoy the ride more

 

how about spark plugs? dirty spark plugs will affect "smoothness" significantly.

try the iridiums (can easily DIY), difference is more especially after few Ks

if on budget, ngk ($12 each) is a much cheaper option compared to denso.

 

air filter can take out to check, if not dirty >20k also no need to change. but i'm using K&N now, take out for cleaning every 20k then put back, ok liow

 

I change my EO full syn at every 3k. Oil filter I change every alternate eo change. Spark plugs I change during I take over the bike (10k mileage) and monitor them regularly. How much does a K&N filter cost? Izit ok to get e 2nd hand?

new K&N is about 120+, but may have hike a little. can ask ah chong to get/fix for you but last heard its out of stock

2nd hand, why not? as long as the condition and price is reasonable

is that a need? many mechs i speak to from car to bike shops, tell me, "u go get a multimeter, check the current before & after u fix the grounding cables. any difference?"

beats me too. happy with my ride. getting faster each day. trying to lighten it further though.

Tried changing my variator plates today using Spin37's ex-tool (very useful).

hehe. Took me 30mins.

 

My old variator a little bit too greasy, therefore the lag when moving off.

Will be cleaning it and replace back again.

Might also try dismantle the clutches and clean properly if got time.

 

Anyway, I bought the variator set (inside and outside plates) at FJT for about $96. Can consider to replace every 2 belt change.

 

Wah. Like that everything DIY can save lots of $$. Just need to go shop change EO/oil filter nia.

last night's extended meetup was fun, something different.

apart from the dinner and kopi at coffee bean, the 5 of us adjourned to mustafa for some "overnight" shopping. hehe... all of us bought something plus a 黑手党 was formed. the meetup ended with maka at the 24hrs swee choon tim sum along jalan besar. all of us were "ready" to wash dishes... whahahaha
