Lets see. A gentle rider like me (90-100km/h) gets:

1st Bar - 95km

2nd Bar - 125km

3rd Bar - 155km

4th Bar - 195km

5th Bar - 225km

6th bar - 255km

7th Bar - 295km

Last 2 pumps:

19 May 2010 - 367km @14.6L = 25.24km/L

24 May 2010 - 370km @14.6L = 25.34km/L

wow! How u do it? I can get my swing to hit 280 or more. Usually 270 plus rerserve Liao and pump 12litre. :p

Urs 370km is hit rerserve and continue going till reach 370km or 370km hit reserve?

Wat did u do to ur bike if ur bike hit reserve @ 370km?

:cheeky:My First Bike - phantom 150 - Dec 1999, CBR 400 RN - 2003, Honda Wave -2003, Super4 Spec II -2004, Fazer 6 S2 - May 2007, SilverWing 400 Euro - Feb 2010, BMW R1200ST - July 2010, R1200GS(LC) - Oct 2017:cool:

notice that SW9000 indicated 295km at 7th bar? that's where the reserve blinker kicks in. if refuel immediately, should be around 12L but most of us continue to ride on for another few tens of km before finally turning into a gas station

if forgot about the refuel and ride on till engine stalls (about 400km for SW9000 and myself), then will have free "gym" session to "pump iron" liow... pushing the near 250kg iron-n-plastic will give you a good workout on the arms, thighs, shoulder and the back... those parts were aching all over the next day after my "workout", i clocked 400km :faint:

Hi, i paid $30+ (uncut + program) @ Looi's.

But pls be noted tat not all key's smith can duplicate the key well, mine for example had problem duplicating. to n flow back to the key smith for 6 times, key just refuse to turn, to an extent the key got outta shape n nearly beyond repair. N i have to pay like $8 just to get it dup.

Got the key working back at Looi's one of the lao jiao mech "touch up" my key.

So pls go to shops like Mr Mint to cut the key if u have to.

Note , was told that theres a sensor "along" the key, if u turn and bend the key, that sensor might snap. Pls be careful with it.

Can get Pirelli Diablo at Motoworld or Kallang Cycle (Ah Choong). Price should be around $170++.

Both shops no have rear wheel balancing, only the front.

I believe most owners neber balance the rear wheel.

Hey bro thanks for info! Another bro has intro me to a shop which do rear wheel balancing.

So disappointing not many shops do not even bother to buy the tool to do it.

Any shop that says small wheel don't need balancing obviously does not have a strong physics background. I used to work as an intern in a mechanical testing lab before :)

F = m * r * w^2

Imbalance force is proportional to the radius, and the SQUARE of rotational speed. So small wheels which spin faster would cause even larger imbalance!

So where u balance ur rear wheel ? Care to share ?

2 roads diverged into a wood, and I-I took the road less traveled and that makes all the difference!

Just upgrade from 3rd Party Fire & Theft (aka 2nd Party) to 1st Party Comprehensive.

3rd Party F & T = $338 (with 20% NCD) *$422 without NCD

1st Party = $586 (with 20% NCD) *$732 without NCD

I topped up the difference.

Excess is $500.

Bike Lost excess is $1000.

Additional loading in premium after claim is for 1 year only.

Loading will be according to claim, i.e. more than $4k = 1.75x, otherwise should be about 1.5x.

Therefore if claim (calculation for illustration purpose only):

$2000:

Premium for next renew = 1.5x $732 = $1098

Plus excess $500

Total money spent = $1598 - $586 = $1012

Total saved = $2000-$1012 = $988.

$3000 claim = save $1988

$4000 claim = save $2988

$4001 claim = save $2806 *loading 1.75x

$5000 claim = save $3805

$6000 claim = save $4805

good advice. so wat will happen?

Depending on the fitment and regularity of the tires,it'll may or may be not significant. I think the weight of the bike also helps to negate the vibration. That's probably how most bros get by without balancing the rear.

But lets say it happens that the heavy points coincide then it'll become obvious especially at high speeds. There was once I saw a kup's wheel vibrate so badly and (most likely that the wheel speed was the same as the resonance frequency - but that's more detailed stuff already) I could hear reptitive skidding sounds and visually see the wheels jumping.

Even if that the resonance thing doesn't happen for us(heavy bike = low resonance freq), the vibration would still be there annoying the hell out of us. It's also not good for friction, just imagine your wheel being pulled up and down every rotation. I mean its the same reason why we always balance car tires even if they're not as big as usual motorbike ones.

And lastly, all of us bros I believe choose a silverwing because of the silence and smoothness rite!

vibrations of such magnitude are not common under normal circumstances, except where the bike is somehow "damaged" (e.g. frame alignment, swing arm, bearings, wheel out of shape, etc.) or when tyre is damaged or very badly fitted.

ever noticed that the mech has to use a small crowbar like tool to pry the tyre into the inner of the wheel's flanges (before inflation)? it is this step of tyre fitting where a less skillful or careless mech can damage the bead of a tyre. bead is that part of a tyre which contacts the rim on a wheel and is typically made using high strength, low flexibility rubber, reinforced with steel wires inside to maintain its spec diameter. when the bead is overstretched, the steel reinforcements gets damaged and the tyre becomes permanently damaged, even when it looks brand new. such tyres should be discarded but i guess most mechs will still sell them as good, knowingly or unknowingly :faint:
