Cause maybe the rectifier life-span up already. Due to the rectifier shorted to ground, and the coil connected to rectifier, the coil burnt as well lo..

I using royal purple, 10W40. This is first time changing the rectifier, bike coming 4th birthday oso :dot:

3 coils in 4 years also something not right. try changing to other engine oil.

at where i service my bike, none of the silverwings that frequent there ever change their coils.

Not sure if it is engine oil problem, but wat i can confirm is the 2nd burnt out coil is caused by my ichy hands lo..overload the system. 1st time is cause by my gasket, oil leaking at coil side there. I took out and reseal it, and oil leak stop my coil oso stop..haiz..Other than that, everythings seems ok, dont really tink its the oil problem because i use the same grade of oil throughout all these while. The specs of the oil oso same as wat the manual recommands..

my 2 cents worth..

2 roads diverged into a wood, and I-I took the road less traveled and that makes all the difference!

Any bike also like that.

The mileage of 60k should get you about 3 years if you don't constant tour to tomyum land.

$500 over 3 years is very good liao.

Can also check if anyone wants to drive up to Koh Samui then share the transport cost loh.

Btw, how come the normal Koh Samui tour by agencies can be as low as $500?

How did they get such low price for flight & hotel combo?

buying from tour agents are usually cheaper than directly from airlines... something like buying from motortiam/FJT is usually cheaper than from BS :p

http://www.airfares.com.sg listed Bangkok Airlines 2-way direct SG-KoSamui lowest at $404.90 (fare $275, taxes $129.9) but that's only for "winter fares" (till 31/03/2011). no prices for 01/04/2011 onwards yet but my guess is it'll be higher due to "super" peak season. will have to wait n see

Is anybody riding the new SilverWing GT?

http://www.ibike.com.hk/01_bike_report/09/honda/gt600/06.jpg

It's engine is mounted on the chassis instead of the swingarm. Does it handle better than the previous SilverWing?

FJS & GT has same engine-swingarm layout
