April Songkran trip confirmed. Driving, and bringing along my approving officer. I figured that's the best way to get my leave approved.

and also not forgetting Singapore vehicles can only pump petrol octane 97 and above. so make sure u dun end up with a low fuel tank & that petrol kiosk dun serve 97 petrol and best part the petrol kiosk is close.

distance from GP Esso to Hatyai city is approx 880km n suppose car's avg highway FC is 14km/L, it'll need approx 63L. think the bigger R&R stations should have Ron97 petrol ba... e.g. pagoh, rawang, tapah, semagol, gurun.

in any case, we're not heading straight up so got lots of opportunities to refuel

Fuel (Malaysia to/fro) = SGD $111

Fuel (Thailand to/fro Koh Samui) = SGD $76

Toll (Malaysia to/fro) = SGD $90

 

Total per car = SGD$277

Hmm... $140 each for a comfortable drive up? Not bad leh.
