I also 179cm. Muahaha. Lucky not yet starting to shrink.

The original is slightly short for us with more wind noise and turbulence at the helmet.

The Givi should be able to reduce the noise and wind.

If too tall, it will obstruct the view during rain because you will need to see through the windshield instead of over it.

I think the Givi's will just nice be under eye level. I'm not really sure cos didn't install one.

You can try cut a piece of paper and stick to your windshield to simulate the extension.

Sit on your bike and see if you can handle the additional obstruction. * No need to ride.

Alternatively, use this method:

Btw I was thinking will a full face helmet eliminate the wind rushing effect to the helmet?

:cheer:

Glad to have u in my life : ) Always love one another!

Depending on what u helmet u r riding now? If u r wearing a regular open face like the OGK Avand, or Arai Ram3 etc, the visor is already pretty low n inwards.

So, if stil have wind entering from underneath, means u might not haf much luck w a full face.

Windshield upgrade is usually the best to eliminate/reduce buffering.

Anyway, good price for Atlantic's shield. :)

Standard for SW400 is 24-25km/L (at 90-100km/h). 23km/L if you have strong wrist.

Assuming 24km/l, you will have:

1. 288km till reserve (12L) * Last bar starts to blink

2. 384km - full tank (16L)

Brand new normally no have these problems cos factory setting quite reliable and parts are new.

Older bikes... many things can affect:

1. Wrist power (common even with new bikes)

2. Tire pressure. *Front=200kpa, rear= 240kpa to 250kpa

3. Thicker EO used for both engine and gear. *Try 10W40 for both

4. Air filter old/dirty. *When was the last change? Stock filter best not go beyond 20k.

5. Spark plugs old/gaps not correct. *Usually recommended to check gap every 10k if don't change plugs. Otherwise, can change at 20k. Use Iridium IUH24 for better performance.

6. Throttle bodies dirty or not balanced. *Recommended to check between 10-15k or when change plugs and air filter.

7. Air/fuel mixture not correct. *Stock is 2-turn anti-clockwise from fully closed. Try not to go beyond 2 or less than 1.5 as it may be too lean or too rich because the bike auto system can only compensate a bit.

8. Lighter rollers that increases working rpm. *Good for pickup but runs at higher rpm and slight lower top end.

9. Resistance to moving, e.g bearings, brakes. *Wheels not turning freely...

10. More city travel. *Try highway ride to see if difference.

11. Always with pillion or too 'heavy'. *Max is 169kg, including all the barangs2 and pillion.

Hmm... what else?

Those that you can adjust or correct by yourself, go do 1st then check Fc again.

Don't conclude too early. I suggest you do the manual calculation how much the SW consume per litre. I had an experience whereby 270km and my fuel gauge started blinking for fuel. And I went to top it up, I only top 11litres of fuel which was 24km/l.

Did some defect diagnosis and found the culprit was the float in the fuel tank.

My 2 cents.

I see, okie.. Will do the sealing up fast. Btw I think I saw a 06 silverwing wing at my gf house there. The bike seems like came with gasket for the engine oil case. As the sealing looks pretty even to me and looks exactly like my s4 gasket but is maroon in colour. Yet to met the owner, hope to bump into the owner soon and have a chat with him! :D

SW's engine side case do not use gasket... you can try calling Boon Siew or Honda parts supplier (e.g. FJT or Ever Success), they can confirm.

some mechs use a cutter to slice off the excess sealant outside such that sealant is swee swee flushed with the engine cover, looking like a gasket. but that is purely aesthetics, not recommended. basically, the mech is NOT supposed to apply so much sealant that upon tightening, too much excess is squeezed out. excess outside is ok, but BIG PROBLEM if inside cos it may drop off inside the compartment (due to heat/pressure) and cause clogging.

***URGENT!!**

Dear SWingers, need your help. My battery just died on me this morning at the carpark and i am unable to start the bike. I called a friend and he told me that for auto scooters there is this jumpstart level or something at the rear wheel of the scooter that we can crank to start the bike when the battery is dead. I tried looking for it for a long while but i couldn't find it. Maybe can anyone please advice me where is this lever, or does it exists or not before i give up and call for towing services.

Many thanks!!

We all only live once. Enjoy the ride. Glad to have met all the wonderful friends through the spirit of riding. Ride safe people!
