Hi all Sw rider,

was jus wondering anybody tried to clean/polish the area where pillion rest their feet on? the grey color area as Mine have water mark on it. I tired to use polish (that I use to clean the deashboard area) but it seeem the water mark still persist.

Hi Scooby dooby,

your * 1x uncollected CB headlight protectors (FJS/JDM) is use to protect the sw headlight area? are you selling?

Does anybody here happen to have spare front fairing above the headlight, realised it was broken this morning T__T...

Posted

Btw, I figure it out that I should try FJT for the front fairing, think have to wait till next week before they are open again

anyone of you here had change that before? this is the 2nd time It broke, the first time it broke i went to apply "plaster" from the paint workshop at Ubi which said it can last but less than 1 mth + it broke again..... >.

Posted

ah.. one more thing... i just realised that the first time I post here was last year CNY, this year I come back again (been 1 year riding sw finally)!

I refer back to the posting I make about the noise that I hear on left hand side of scootor, which I finally ask a tech to open up and check and found that the "driven face" or should I said it the cluth weight set is wear off? (is not even) that why when it is stationary, it rub the "driven face" and cause the noise... (according to the tech guy) so he help me use sandpaper to rub rub abit or something and the noise kind of reduce but still there... he advise if really not happy with the sound... then the whole set of "driven face" and "drive shaft lunar plate" need to change

anybody happen to have a better solution to this also?

Had dinner at a Thai restaurant at rail Mall.

Not bad in my opinion.

most unfortunately, the headlight protector has been paid for and i'm waiting for buyer to collect it... i can't sell it :pity:

yes, it cost about +/- $95 from FJT... do try to order the exact same color.

if not, you'll need to spend extra on respray.

alternatively, use sticker.

your description is not very clear leh... sound???

what kind of sound? how loud? from which part of left side?

if its the regular "pigeon" sound when moving off, it could be slippage or some "jams" at the clutch peg pivots... easy, just cleaning will do.

if its garak garak sound coming from the rear gear area... could be due to worn bearing and/or gear shaft. not a big problem as could be repaired for +/- $550 (some of us did it at K&T). see tech cornet post #24

Bro scooby, if the bearing worn out, will it cause oil from the final gear to slip into the belting area? Or it will only cause the garak grak sound unless is oil seal which os broke then will cause the oil to slip into the belting area? Pardon me as I wish to learn more :D

Thank for the info, you are right, when it is stationary, there is sound coming from the rear drive area, and when moving off the sound disappear, does this affect or will cause damage to the bike if I let it maintain this way?

going to try my luck at FJT then, thank again.

Posted

the sound seems to "disappear" when bike is on the move becos the shaft rotates at higher rpm, thus vibrating at higher frequency, plus it is musked by sound from exhaust and our ears are covered by the helmet... problem is still there.

when bike is started (idling) and left on main stand, try rotating the rear wheel in reverse direction (use your legs and not hands) and you should hear the garak garak even louder. under normal/good condition, that garak garak sound shouldn't be there... can try on other SW and you'll know what i mean.

as to whether the oil will seap into the CVT drive case (clutch assembly area), it shouldn't happen as long as the oil seal and o-ring is not damaged. but with all the abnormal vibrations from the shaft due to worn bearing, they will suffer pre-mature wearing. once that happen... got juice liow :p
