Check with you, does your SWING have a button inside one of the front compartment to release the seat...?

did you make sure any potential air bubbles are out?

usually, there is no need to do bleeding but if air somehow gets in, then bo pian liow. spongy feel might be an indication that air got in.

try bleeding till the levels are stiff again and make sure to top up the brake oil reservoirs again.

They are ok now but the reach of the levers are very far now. Anyway to make them closer or are there adjustable levers for both left and right?

do not mod the levels... strength of the level may be compromised... safety first :p

there probably are aftermarket adjustable levels around, but we haven't seen any SW among us using it. do share/post in the forum if you manage to find any... other could also be interested.

where to get? forum got many pp selling. many motortiams also got do mod, and i'm pretty sure if you seek out Ah Choong, he for sure can :)

our ex-SWinger HelmetBOX! uses HID for his high beam... can check with him.

btw, SW uses H7 bulbs so make sure you buy the H7 HID kit. there's enough space in the head cowl to install the ballast.

high beam seems ok but not sure if the plastic mirror can withstand the high heat from HID bulb for continuous use on the low beam... at your own risk lor :p

no need to buy the original "honda" battery... i was quoted >$220+ in mid 2008, dunno inflated to how much now. but hey! it is no different from the Yuasa YTZ12S which costs only ½ of that, only difference is the Yuasa-Honda case.

see the pics in Tech Corner post #11... you pay double for the "chicken wing" logo.

personally, i have used all 3 types; YTX12A-BS, YTZ14S and the "honda" YTZ12S that came with bike.

my recommendation is to pay $10+ more and get the bigger capacity YTZ14S (used in bigger Honda bikes like STX). yes, it fits nicely as both 12S & 14S has the same physical dimensions. many of us have been using that for years.

i wouldn't recommend the much cheaper (

best price we know is from KS Motor Co... $130 for a YTZ14S :thumb:

see Tech post #5 for address & contact

if you are willing to pay for the extra service, i guess many things also can.

$$ makes the world go round lor :lol:

DIY la... change batt is very simple,

* make sure bike ignition is OFF

* lift seat

* unscrew/remove battery cover

* unscrew/remove -ve connection

* unscrew/remove +ve connection

* remove old battery (note that it is on the side with the terminals at the top)

* clean the "hole" and put in new battery in same position as the old one

* connect the +ve connection

* connect the -ve connection

* screw back the battery cover

* whoala :p

when disconnecting/connecting the terminals, it is good to follow the recommended sequence:

* disconnecting... remove -ve then remove +ve

* connecting... connect +ve then connect -ve

this is to prevent accidental shorts when +ve touches any metal parts of bike while the -ve is still connected. other that sparks, shorts may cause damage to wire harness, burn fuses, fry CDI, etc.

high beam HID, low beam normal?

tot i mentioned HelmetBOX! did that :smile:

Better this way, or else it invite people to rob your bike when travel overseas. The boxes are original, the ex-owner paste carbon on it.
