guys... the situation at hatyai seems rater chaotic, are we still going there? whether the songkran will go on as per normal after this disaster is secondary, safety is my no. 1 concern.

change to another stopover, or scrap Thailand altogether and go circumvent peninsula malaysia?

 

my OC (acting CO) is very concerned and may cancel exit permit

i'm also starting to have doubts after reading the various news reports

In view of the recent bomb blasts in Yala and in Hat Yai, which had led to the fire at the Lee Gardens Plaza Hotel, Singaporeans are advised to postpone non-essential travel to the southern provinces of Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat and Songkhla in Thailand for the time being.

Ko Samui hotels r out for Songkran? Otherwise, can go Penang longer n go Ko Samui for songkran.

 

Alternatively, what abt Phuket?

Hmmm. If wanna avoid Songkhla, then cant go krabi too le ba.

personally, I also don't feel like entering Songkhla. the region is unsafe for now so we'll never know what'll happen while on the way passing thru. if no better options, then gotta abandon trip le. the risk is too much just for a tour, i'ld rather make another trip up another time.

I'm coming back from Krabi via west coast Checkpoint Wang Kelian.

Anyway, I've already booked Krabi.

Just need to know how many willing to join for Penang then I book Mingood (cheap) or Berjaya (expensive but near Gurney Mall... if I'm alone).
