Bought OEM air filter from Eversuccess for 45bux today and replace it in 15mins. De-element my old air filter. Waiting to get the foam element to cut to size and fit it in.

Where the meter?

Think Monter's 3 stripes type. Transparent background with selective logo color for diff bikes.

Chey, on way back at bukit indah, just realised my voltmeter constant at 12.5v even when moving.

Think the coil kaput again or rectifier. Haiz, 1 year only. Wonder the coil got burnt cos high speed for too long?

Tmr go ACM during lunch time to check and replace.

I'm back, home sweet home ............ :)

 

Two of them are heading back this coming holiday................ They addicted to "Sport Day", love to play "ping pong".

AN650L3 (current): All mod transferred.

SW-T400 (till oct 13): voltmeter, safety features disabled. coocase v36+remote. Adjustable, folding Brake levers. Givi AF318 windshield. on-off switch(pilot light, head light, hazard light), electrical seat unlatch,Dr pulley.

AN400K6 (apr07-dec11): side deflectors, J Costa variator, Dr pulley slider + HiT clutch.

YP250, RVF400/RS250, NSF125.

Nope. Last change was exactly 1-year ago, 2 days before NDP trip to Cameron Highland and Betong.

Tmr will get Ah Choong to test. If confirmed coil burnt, then must really consider change of EO.

Hmm... Maxima 10W40 not good enough?

Anyway, this trip found something new.

 

From 110km/h onwards, got very loud 'howling' sound from the front (just above the fuel tank).

Sound got louder whenever I accelerate and disappears when I close throttle.

As if got 'powervalve' where it was quiet until a certain speed then the sound comes in.

 

At the moment, I'm suspecting:

 

1. The sound is actually from the exhaust... somehow got amplified and drawn to the front because of the quiet Air-flow windshield?

 

2. Exhaust leak at the front header? Less likely because I did 150km/h during the Bahkuteh trip and nothing happens (with stock windshield).

 

3. Stress of the engine at high speed due to: spark plugs, air filter or even the not-working-properly magnetic coil/Rectifier (insufficient power supply)?

not necessary it's the coil... could be a defective voltmeter.

suggest use a multimeter to test the voltage at the battery terminals or better still, at the coil terminals behind right side pillion foot rest.

 

since you live so near, let ah choong do the testing also can :p

Magnetic coil spoilt. Coil looks new without burnt out parts but got funny smell.

Replace liao now everything back to normal.

 

Also changed back to Mutol 7100.

My coil lasts only 1-year with the Maxima.

Hope it can tahan longer with the Mutol.

Did you try measuring the impedance value of the old coil and the new coil..?
