Visited Clifford at K & T this morning.

He said highly likely the coil problem is a product/manufacture fault rather than Engine Oil.

 

Most of his customers are using Maxima 10W40 and never encountered such short tern coil replacement.

Only a few models of bike may have this coil issue (example, DRZ SM) but all findings point to parts fault.

 

He also noticed that the new coil installed for tcss was slightly different from the stock. He said something about the coating...

 

Anyway, suggested to highlight the problem to Boon Siew.

More people to pressure them better.

Majority of us goes to Acm but sometimes we still hop around other shops too.

Acm is specialist in scooter, however he's does have the capability of working on manuel bikes and infact he's very knowledgeable on it.

Some of our ex fellow silver-wing riders still visit him for servicing and modification with their Manuel bikes.

Planet's ah chong is a nice and friendly uncle too.. Been there couple of times when I'm riding my vtec 1.

So he mech saying bad EO might cause of the prb for coil is not really true then >.

mine always fried once almost every year on my class 2

7.45am (8.45am) - BKT Breakfast at Kota Tinggi (51km)

9.45am (10am) - Kuala Rompin Shell petrol stop (139km, total 190km)

11.30am (12.30pm) - SG Pandan Waterfall (143km)

1pm (2pm) - SG Lembing Town Lunch and walkabout (32km)

2.30pm - Check in Hotel (42km). R & R till meet up for Dinner.

5.30pm (7pm) - Dinner at Satay Zul

7.30pm - Night market, movies at Berjaya Megamall, etc.

 

7 Oct 12:

7.30am (9am) - Meet up and ride to Cempedak Beach for Mcdonalds Breakfast and walk about (5.5km)

9.30am (10.30am) - Laozi Temple visit (13km)

11am (12noon) - Back to Hotel, wash up and check out.

2.15pm (3.30pm) - Mersing tea break and petrol refill (196km)

5pm - Sutera Reborn Massage (135km) or Home Sweet Home via Woodlands (129km).

We would be most interested find out the true cause, however we do not encounter such similar feedback from our regular customer.

We appreciate if any FJS400 encounter such problem, please arrange and let us be the 1st to look into it, we require to gather information to submit QIC (Quality Insp. Control) to our principle (Honda, Japan)

Would any of you know whether the JDM400 right hand side control switch with the Hazard light switch can be used for our FJS400? My starter switch seems faulty cos of the headlight sometimes won't on.

Did you try spraying some wd40 on the headlight connector that is located inside the switch assembly?

Might helps to solve ur issue as i did experienced that before on my s4.

Happen to have some rusty particles form up on the connector that have blocked the current from flowing thru.

This normally will happen due to slipping in water from the rain.

 

By the way, yes. jdm switch assembly can be use on fjs. I did seen it before.

Doneded. Opened up and there is a pin that is badly corroded. Also can use the hazard switch for my hazard light.

Yep.. Saw quite a number for of silverwing on sale under the used bike section. One even with repsol decals.. Nice!
