Thanks - but last time I tried full-trigger, the petrol over flowed without auto-stop. Did that twice at same pump. Perhaps the pump sensor not functioning well.

After an hour or so, I started the bike again and the engine went well and smooth. Will try to monitor the performance. Probably will avoid riding in rain :cheeky:

Is still better to solve the problem than avoiding the problem. Sometime things is always beyond our control, we may not know wat will happen but if 1 of this days you need it urgently and is raining ... :faint:

Hi Soundless (or anyone),

Saw me an ad for XEvo 400

I read some where XEvo 400 has 34km/L fc, great storage space and yet still light. Anyone has any comments? Anyone knows what is the MAIN difference between an X9 500 and XEvo 400? I do not see Piaggio Singapore carrying X9 500.

There's also a chap selling X8 400ie... Hmmm... Still not sure what main differences between XEvo 400 and X8 400ie. Anyone care to comment?

Thanks

Thanks, bro!

Seems like Piaggio did so high-tec "genome" work on XEvo huh. Single disc brake front? Awww .... :(

Am thinking of getting a 400cc for both city and occasional touring purpose. Since the FC is pretty good for a 400cc scooter, I thot it may make a good all-purpose bike (except track and off-road).

Hey guys!

Thanks for all your advices regarding my lousy mileage. I just wanted to update you guys for sharing purposes and also for the benefit of others who may come across the same problem as I did.

My problem was my full tank (excluding reserve) could only give me about 180 km, which is lousy considering a normal X9 180cc should give about 300 km. There is no leakage from the fuel tank, tyre pressure ok, air filter and spark plugs ok. Only obvious symtom was that there is a strong petrol smell everytime I ride it.

I just went down to Future Scootering this morning to check it out. Finally found out what was wrong - the petrol needle (2nd hand $30) and rubber gasket (2nd hand $5) in the reservoir of the carburetor was worn out. The petrol was leaking from there. I changed both and serviced the carburetor. So this explains the symtoms I was experiencing - no petrol leakage when the bike is not moving, but will leak slowly from the carburetor when the motor is running.

I will run a couple more full tanks to see if the mileage improves or not and will update you guys again.

FC drop Ok - the last one was a joke... but losing 100KM efficiency is quite significant.

Assuming your problem is exactly the same as mine:

1) Service Carb : $35

2) 2nd hand Fuel needle: $30

3) 2nd hand Carb reservior rubber gasket: $5

Total : $70

Hi, Cheong72...

The carb reservior rubber gasket is to stop the leak?

hi guys! just got a few qns to ask again.

1) normally at what RPM does ur x9 200 start moving off frm stationary? is 3500rpm normal? coz i just collected a x9 frm my fren and previously have been nvr ridden a auto bike b4. but i personally feel that 3.5 is too high for the bike to move off.

2) At which mark does the fan start moving? if it starts 2 marks away frm red line is it normal? the temp of the x9 seems to go up real fast.

3) Cost of the digital panel as i really need to get a new one. i dun think its possible to find a 2nd hand one that is working well n is clear.

hi guys. finally took the plunge n bought an x9 250 cc. will collect it mayb by wed. hopefully bike wont give me problem. will need to learn a lot from experts in here. will update agn after i collect my bike.

hi guys. got a big question. jus came back from future motor this afternoon. changed my mounting and simple servicing. the guy who repair and service my bike looks like a new guy. at around 7 i went to mscp to collect my bike to go dinner , saw a pool of oil beneath my bike, i thought it's the previous bike who left that oil, so didn't give second thoughts, and when i returning to my mscp after dinner, my bike got this sound "ta ta ta" seems like gear box or belt jam, i manage to reach my mscp and the bike cannot be started anymore. i smells a strong smell of burned smell. my bike temp is normal, haven reach red zone. i noticed there's oil dripping from my bike after i parked, What's wrong anyone can tell me? i had been ridding this bike for 2-3 months and no such problem until i went to future. wat shld i do? i can't even start the bike now. sorry for my poor english btw.

maybe your oil filter have not be tighten correctly or your engine oil drain nut that may explain the oil stain.

Go back the shop and tell them. see what is spoilt. If engine run without oil, few things maybe gone also.

Yah - like what Soundless mentioned, bring your SCoot back to the shop immediately - and have them rectify the problem. Perhaps you should tow your bike to the shop so that the dripping oil will not get to the roads and endanger other motorist.

pray that nothing is serious.

Some case that i saw @ my mech there.

Case I

Previous shop use impact wench to tighen the nut, Cause the nut to lose thread and causes leakage of oil. The drain nut come in 2 kind. Alum and brass. Alum will be strip off thread while brass will strip off the thread @ the engine case.

Case II

The previous mech never check the oil filter before installing. As the old oil filter O ring is still stuck @ the engine case and never remove before installation. Causes double O ring @ the oil filter.

Case III

The owner change oil himself, Fail to tighen the nut before move off. Nut dunno drop @ which road and ride till Engine burnt.

A oil change may look simple and easy.
