Thanks kenny for kind reply.

1. Which model you riding? - 04 X9

2. how old is the bike? - turning 6 in march

3. The problem come anytime after 100km/h OR? - it comes after a while like 10 seconds after travelling at above 100

4. recently any mod. to the bike? - no all stock

5. Are you using original Air- filter box or after market open pod? I have not touch anything, should be original

6. when was the last time you servie the CARB? - I just got this for 3 months. not sure of the history

From what you had reply me, let"s start from basic >

1. Before serviced the CARB, do you face this problem?

If no, you may wanna check is the jetting proper install or is it proper clean up. Carb faulty may cause this problem.

2. check out the Manifold *Carb Joint*.

when manifold crack, you will face this problem while riding in higher speed.

3. Check the fuel filter.

if fuel filter too dirty will also give you this problem

4. Check engine for leakage.

After long years of riding, there sure be carbon around the piston and Exhaust intake, too much of carbon will cause lost of compression. Overhaul needed.

There might be some other reason too. If you still need any help, you may also call me direct for faster reply, cheers.

did you report it to police? I advice you to do that if you haven't.

there's re-condition mirror (price from $50 - $75) and brand new price from $145- $220

maybe you can consider of fixing in an alarm system, it may help you to preventing it from happen again.

There's few bike alarm on the market i believe. Personally i will advise you just to fix a normal alarm to scare them off.

Cost i thin is from $80 to $180 depend to where to fix and brand.

My friend now using our method to seal the mirror...... Now quite hard to remove... but if he want, still removable....

We use locktite and some A+B glue to seal the screw....

To remove, you need dig the glue out, then have to use force to remove....

Same to caliper......since brake pad can last quite long....

Guys,

Sorry to hijack the conversation. Could I check with you all, my X9 180cc recently, when at idling, has a loud squeaking noise coming from the engine side. And even at idling, it feels like the rear wheel is engaged and moving forward. Because of that, it can't move backwards even at idling.

Anyone encountered such symtoms? I have a bad feeling that its the clutch problem. It can't be the transmission belt right?

Thanks

how high is your RPM?

Is a norm for the rear wheel to rotate while idling... but not till the case of auto move off.... If idle too high, the clutch is in semi engage.

The best if you see him do.... cos bike shop words cannot be trusted.....

Who know they give you second hand batt and give you ah boy belt.

To see is to believe

Since the bike is out, just bring to another shop to check.

If require, do drop me a sms or pm if help is needed.

is it the grey x9 at WM? botak told me abt that bike. my belt was also "changed" when i bought from shop...but only used for 6k, n as advised by botak, i changed it the other day. it was in quite bad shape. got some torn parts.

My RPM is normal, idling at 1.5...soundless, you ever encounter squeaking sound coming from the belt side of the rear wheel at idling? When I first got my bike, it didn't have this sound, only recently. Even after changing engine oil and gear oil, the problem is still there. I am definate this squeaking sound is linked to my rear wheel being engaged at idling.

I am not sure. Best if you drop by the bikeshop to have a look.

I think maybe the clutch got something drop off. maybe a clip or the spring.

Questions:

1. when is the last time you change belt?

2. Did they replace the Air-speed nut for you?

3. the sound you mention is from the left or right side of your bike?

Answer to yours:

When idling, the rear tyres are not suppose to move if the iding is below 2k (apply to original parts) ,(aftermarket parts may cause wheel turning with inproper install).

Problem might be >

1. The Clutch kit rubber supporting the clutch shoe worn out

2. Check the tighten nut at the air speed

3. check the bearing at the transmission cover (try to turn your rear wheel to see whelter got any sound or not)

4. worst case > torque driver spring give way

Please get it check ASAP before anythings get worst. Hope this help, cheers.

My advise for you > get someone who know the bike and have a check on it for you. Atleast you will have more confidence :)
