When new... The engine very responsive.... But about 1k, the bike like sluggies and FC start to drop from 28km/L to 22-25km/L.... Make me have to do another Oil change @ Malaysia.... REAL REGRET using it.... somemore more expensive then 7100.

Sometime engine oil brand is not importance... Wonderful motor EO is using MotorBest. Till to date, i have never regret using it. But its only good for scooter.

300v when i reach penang have drop about 2-3mm of oil from dip stick.

Wow! What is your cruising speed riding up to penang on X9 200?

would it be stressful maintaining 120-130 km/hr?

Have you tried your top speed that your X9 could achieve?

Hi X9ers!

Need your help and advise on my bike problem!

I just bought a 6yrs old X9 Evo 200 from bike shop. The guy promised to full service it before he sell it to me. He changed engine oil, digital panel, belting, spark plug, and performed some normal inspection.

However, i just got the bike yesterday and ride it back from Toh Guan road to Yew Tee. I discovered some major issues and not sure whats the causes:

- The bike always maintain at high Rev (around 5000-6000) when travelling

- Bike only start moving when Rev > 4k to 5k

- Bike has no power @ 80kmh, it slows down to 60kmh when i m travelling at expressway, with full throttle!

- Bike overheat and the engine stop after 20mins

What should i do......HELP!!!

Hi Kenny,

Thanks for your advise. The bike still under one month warranty by the bike shop. So i definitely will head down and ask him to fix for me. (quite angry because 1st time riding the bike and its giving me so many problems). The guy still said that he CHANGED belting for me!

The overheat problem also due to the transmission as well?

over heating might cause by the water pump or so. To confirm, maybe we can meet up so as i can give you better advise and know the actually problem.

Hi Soundless,

I believe you are riding a X9 Evo 200 as well.

Have noticed that the mileage you mentioned your X9 can achieve is about 443km (Normal + Reserve).

What i am experiencing now on my X9 is 240km before hitting reserve.

I am a slow and "gentle on the throttle" rider, barely hitting 6000rpm on the road and expressway

How do i increase my mileage and was there any special tuning done to your carburetor ?

Hi Kenny,

Any comments or input towards this issue ?

Hope to hear from you guys soon.

Thank you.

Regards,

mel

Discovered another big issue justnow after riding my bike.....the engine oil is leaking!! and it seems to be quite serious, i warn up the engine for 2 mins. then ride for 1 round and stop, the engine oil started to leak at the bottom part, with quite a fast rate.

Also, i only ride for 5km to nearby for dinner, the temperature hit red bar already! (coolant just top up till full)

Called the bike shop, and the guy said will arrange for lorry to pick up my bike to send back to workshop for repair, he said he will do the thorough inspection......

Sad.....only few days then the bike broke down.....:(

FC is mainly to how Rider ride it.

1. rider weight

2. rider style

3. compressions

4. after many year of riding > carbon created at valve, piston

5. pertrol

6. mainly on highway?

All the above may cause high FC too.

How to hit high mileage kenny have highlighted to you.

A proper maintenance also play a big part.

Like regular changing of Eo and servicing.

But i have someone who know how to dismantle clutch system and did proper servicing instead of Air gun job. Which give me smooth launching of bike.

Wow! Normal + reserve can travel 443Km.

Just clock 380km hitting reserve (needle pointing at 3rd red bar)

which i asssume is ok for 250cc.

Or could it be better?

Later pump about 13 litre which sum up 29km/ltr.

Just a quick question. How much air pressure to pump for X9 front and back? Thanks a lot, folks!

Upz to each....

My front 30psi and rear 36(due to heavy load @ the back)

Normally some of them pump 32 front and 34 rear...

There's a draging noise under normal criuising speed whenever i go over bumbs. It occurs when i pillion someone. It did not occurs when riding alone.

The noise come from underneath back wheel. Suspected to be the drive belt like abit tight?

The movement and travel of the swing arm is more when weigth is apply.Does it affect the drive belt to cause it stretch?

Hope this helps.

I am very angry......if the bike shop do this again to me, i am going to publish the bike shop name here so that nobody get cheap by him again...!

My X9 broke down 3 times since i bought it 2nd hand....

1st time, overheat + bike no power (can only reach 70-80 max) + engine oil leaking....end up lorry picked it up and sent back to bike shop....after service the guy said coolant pipe leak & oil seal leak...

2nd time, just after service from 1st time, i ride it from jurong east to NUS, again, same thing happened....bike no power + overheat again due to heavy traffic + engine very noisy.....all the coolant leaked out from the top lid.......lorry picked it up and sent back.....after repaired he said he changed a part in the engine (he cant tell the name in English, he said "Ba jiao" in chinese, which i dunno what is that).....

3rd time, today, the bike seems to be better, better power...can reach 90-100, engine more quiet....and the guy said he tested the bike, no overheat, better power now......

But, worst thing is: after riding for 20mins on expressway, suddenly, got 1 smell came out from the bike (like burning rubber)....then after a while....the speed decreasing (i m still holding my throttle max) from 80 to 70, 70 to 60...50....40....and the temp start increasing to red bar!!!!

I knew something is happening, so get out from expressway, and just infront of the traffic light, the bike overheat again!!!!

****!!!!!! called the lorry, and sent it back to the shop.....and argued with the guy...i was very angry....if he cant fix the bike for the last time, i want him to refund to me....

Very dissapointed with the bike......can anyone tell me roughly what problems with the bike? by looking at the symptoms that i mentioned?? Helpless.......

From what you mentions over here >

Did they change the thermostat?

Is the thermo cover still leaking?

is there testing done after bike done? (i mean is the coolant boiling?)

What is the colour of the coolant?

is the Radiator rust or stuck?

when first you say the bike overheated and engine very noise, i think is better for you to get them to check out the engine.

is hard to give you actual advise if we are guessing here. call me, i might be able to understand more.
