Just now I got summoned by Certis CISCO for parking at the backlane between Liang Seah Street and Tan Queen Lan Street at Bugis at 9.35pm.

 

I parked there because there was a coupon parking sign there (BL095), but I didn't find a single parking lot of any kind. So I just parked my bike at one corner and put a coupon on the tank cover.

 

The ticket said I infringed Rule 3, which is Parking other than a parking lot.

 

There was also a "SCWL (*)" printed on the paper.

 

And that I am to pay URA $25 dollars...

 

Only my fifth day as a biker and now this... Any bros and sis can help me with this issue...? Am I supposed to appeal...?

My suggest is , if u really did not commmit or kanan misunderstood etc . appeal lo . if u really guilty , and since its $25 , just pay up ba . save ur appeal cahnce for more exp next time (hope not) . LOL

don't bother appealing laa. Just remember in future to look for a proper lot. You already have the convenience of having to ride a bike, so what's the biggie in having to look further for a parking lot.

If you look carefully, there are a few parking spaces at the side of that alley and most of the other alleys from Tan Quee Lan Street to Seah Seah.

it's very common to get summon there. always from 920pm - 945pm parking warden will come.

If you really want, you can type out a nice story blaming everything else, except for you. Use reasons like.. all bike lots taken... why ura nvr cater enough bike lots?! etc. Argue that u put a coupon.

 

There's always a high chance for the fine to be waived for 1st time offences. The question to you is: Is this letter worth $25? If not, just pay ah gong.

Well, URA is under no obligation to provide you with an empty lot. If the car park is full, it's your responsibility to go to another car park to look for an empty lot. It's very clear in the rules that parking can only be done in a parking lot. I think we all understand that if we want to park on kerb, backlane etc, we risk getting saman and fine. Waiver is if they give us chance, not that we are entitled to it.

hmmm, i've appeal before... 90% successs rate.. Just quote your coupon number and stated that you didn't know that cannot park this way and etc.. Remember to declare that you are riding a Bike only on your 5th day... Hope this helps..

 

But if it's your 2nd time.. It will not work anymore...
