Bought a yellow 2009 Tmax this week. Not the first time; had a BlackMax a few years ago and sold it when upgrading to car. Kept my CBR929 but always missed my Max. Few years on, back on Tmax :)

Any advice on a good shop for maintenance?

Looking to upgrade a few things and looking for advice:

1. Would like nice aftermarket exhaust. Any legel ones available? Like the Yoshimura R77 carbon but guess that's not legal...

2. Want a low windscreen. On my old Max I had teh original Yamaha sports windscreen. Thinking abouyt doing the same on the new Max. Any other options? On stock in SG or online?

3. My old Max accelerated better. It had different rollers/variator. Have been browsing the web; J Costa appears to make quite a difference. Any shop in SG have stock? Different models to consider? I mostly read about Evo 2. Any downsides to such replacement variators?

4. My old Max had wave disks which I liked. I found similar ones on Ebay but teh front calibers need an adapter. Any alternatives available?

Cheers,

Marc

hi all , i might be trading in my FJR for tmax soon. most of the question i gg to ask might have been asked before, kindly endure and help me with answers.

1- does the gearbox shaft will have problems easily?

2- is the whole transmission system durable? as in the gears, rollers and beltings etc

3- how often does tmax need to change battery and recifier?

4- other then online shopping for aftermarket stuffs anywhere local can get it?

really appreciate all your inputs..cheers

1- does the gearbox shaft will have problems easily?

it is belt and chain, the final drive is chain. so far there is no problem to the gear

2- is the whole transmission system durable? as in the gears, rollers and beltings etc

manual say change at 20k. but some can go up to 30+k then change

3- how often does tmax need to change battery and recifier?

the depend on how much electric items you add on the bike, mostly same as other type of bikes

4- other then online shopping for aftermarket stuffs anywhere local can get it?

ACM, SBF, motoworld.....etc....
