Wah strong and go gym..

I'm 1.73m and tip toe also on the bike. I'm lanky and the only gym I go to is the one mindef is paying me to go (Khatib FCC). Haha but seriously I don't find it heavy. I find very nimble in fact. No problems doing slow u-turns and stuff like that. Probably you haven't got used to the geometry of the bike.

I am 1.75m, I need to tip toe too.. But I feel tmax feels much lighter as compared to other bikes I have owned.. I think it's because the center of gravity are lower compared to other street or sports bikes..

i'm only 1.68m tall only...agree with u on the center of gravity thing...and yes i also need to tip toe...but if you know the trick, you can use one feet only on the ground.

Gents, how do you fare 2009 Tmax 500?

Nothing wrong with Tmax, in my opinion. Just that you should know what you are getting when you buy one. It's a class 2 bike, so don't expect it to be like class 2b. I guess the pros and cons are similar as for every class 2 bike. Below is purely my unbiased opinion of Tmax530 after owning it for like 3 weeks. I must say my opinions may change as I own the bike longer. Comparing to a class 2b bike,

Pros:

1. its acceleration is good

2. less vibration and more stable at high speed (note: at high speed) At low speed, the engine will rev to 2000rpm before the clutch auto-engage

Cons:

1. its running cost is more expensive. So far petrol consumption while running in (riding slowly) is around 20-22km/L (city riding)

2. it's bigger and wider, you can't squeeze in between traffic when jam at normal roads, unless the road happen to have very wide lanes. I read some posts saying that the mirrors are at the same height, well, almost all bikes' mirror are at about the same height too. The main reason is it's wide.

3. as above, the engine wants to rev. Takes a bit getting used to especially when you only want to move the bike 0.5m.

4. You also can't free-wheel as you have no control of the clutch. You need to throttle all the way to the red light, otherwise engine brake comes in.

Hi ! bikejunkie, Yes ! The Tmax 530 has got a BIG PROBLEM.....The problem is the Tmax is OVER POWERED....It's a WILD HORSE.....And you need a Gd CowBoy to handle it.....so if u ain't a cowboy, you ain't riding the Tmax.....so u got to let the horse go.....GOT IT BRO ?
