tks bro, may i know wat the may diff between between a curb and fi model? and diff in terms of power ? how much should a 05 model fetch if i intend to buy one? Is there any common problem in tmax to look out for ? sorry for the question i just wanna be sure before getting one. if not for my 2 bike n a car i long buy liao. just wanna let go one bike first as i only got one arse... hee

actually if u flip the history of this thread...like a few pages...u can find the ans..its been discussed upteen times..

 

Basically power u dun have to worry..its very impressive even for carb model..

carb model has thinner tyres n single disc brakes up front.. (mk1)

What to look out for are mainly how the bike starts,battery,disc brakes worn?pump worn?etc(Like normal old bike buying,Wear n tear stuff)

 

 

1st EFI model has thicker rear tyres and twin disc brakes up front (mk2)

This is the 05 model ur talking abt..EFI alrdy..to look out not much..even though high mileage also can buy coz its meant to travel..things to look out basically the same..no problems or recall done to Tmaxs..

 

Current Gen has a whole new chasis (Control Filled alloy),brembo master pumps,quick release windscreen n a high mount exhaust (just to name a few)..wad are the problems to this bike?to buyers,its the selling price..new or pre-loved all in 15k region..lucky i bought when it 1st came out when the price was lowest..

yo bro tks for the feedback very informative indeed. anyway i manage to sell my r6 already, so should be getting one soon once the paper work is done on 23 of this month. saw 2 tmax from this forum will arrange to meet up with them one silver and one blue moon colour 02 and 04 but selling at the same price and milelage almost the same hee.. will view and decide then... but mean while is there any shop i can visit that sell tmax accessoires? feel like going to browse and make a wishlist of wat to buy when i get it hee.. so excited about a 500cc scooter ahhahah.. i saw from the previous thread sg only got 5 tmax around ? or does it mean tmax owner thats visit this forum. tks anyway hope to join u guys in yr outing soon. cheers ...

Most accessories have to order from overseas..unless u heng heng can find some readily avail stuff..i have some accessories details..when u get your bike then we can go out n discuss over kopi..anyways u getting a carb or EFI model?Personally i would recommend a EFI model..but its ok if u get a carb model coz cheeko bro can diy the maintanence..

Hahah..no la..u guys keep saying me change bike faster than i change underwear la..like all negative stuff..so i must clarify myself..this is positive..to buy early may not be a bad thing..in doing wadever things also the same theory ma..if u have the foresight..u can do it..but dun be afraid to fail..just try again..

Finally sold off my Blackbird. Now also have placed order for my new Tmax and was told that ABS model no stock.

 

Ordered a Sliver coloured one and will place COE bidding on early AUGUST and should have bike just b4 National Day, i hope.

 

Was given 2 numbers to consider but not sure which one to choose.

 

a) FS 380 G

b) FB 6388 K.

 

Now just have to think hard to consider, any suggestions.....?

 

Also for those who already have their 2009 bikes, anyone can recommend rear box fixtures? Should i get the backrest that is available at the Hong Leong spare parts shop that is for only 09 Tmax usage....or any other recommendations.

if i were u i`ll spend abit more money n buy a 1 or 2 digit number that u like or bid a number that u like..

 

rear box givi has parts for it..hong leong shld have also (Original yamaha)

If u put the box,get it with de pillion rest,den u no need to get the stand alone pillion rest..
