hey guys. I Juz bought a gilera. wanna ask you guys y is it when i move off the bike tends to vibrate alot and sometimes the transmission got this dragging sound? anybody know the problem. I just done a full servicing but still the problem is there. anyone?

For last time i bought my bike was 7k flat including everything which i bought it at bike production but u can try to look around from other shop if u want to. The common problem for gilera bikes is the water pump area & after 3yrs of usage the problems will start to grow from another part to another such as leaking of engine oil, transmission area; etc... easy to say that for gilera bikes the spare parts u can't find it at any motorbike shop, u need to go down to a bike shop which deal with gilera bikes & for the price wise, be prepare to burn a big hole in yr pocket if it comes to certain parts...

 

But for this bike it is really a fun bike to ride in singapore road as u will not get tired in case of traffic jam as it is a auto bike. For self maintaining wise u need to keep a look out for yr coolant level like for example once in 2 weeks just to ensure that yr coolant is sufficent, no need to worry bout chain oil stain on yr rims & there is many more things u will find out bout this bike when u get it...trust me bro i'm using this bike for nearly 4 yrs & i'm loving it, its not that every now & then it will give u problems, but when the problems start just be prepare

 

There is 2 type of servicing, normal servicing & full servicing.

For me i will do normal servicing every 5000km of riding. That would consist of changing of spark plug, engine oil (10-40w) & oil filter...

For full servicing it will depends on what type of belting u are using. Malossi,Piaggio,etc have different range of usage but also it will have to depends on the rider itself,aggresive or just riding it for the sake of transport (u know what i mean) Example for every 12000km-15000km of usage u will need to do full servicing which consist of changing of new belting, u-clip, rollers, cleaning up of yr transmission area, spark plug, engine oil (10w-40w), oil filter & gear oil...

Finally, I have converted my whole bike to stock. Below are the details of the bike:

 

Model: VXR 200 year 2005 model.

Color: Kawasaki Green

Plate: FZ

PRICE: $3200 cash.bike is fully paid.

COE: End of Oct/Nov 2015

Road Tax: Oct 2010

 

Reason for $3.2k price:

Bike has just undergone top overhaul.This was done to change my Malossi block n piston set back to stock. Price for overhaul: $400.

Bike is fitted with VENHILL braided brake lines. Cost of brake lines: $200

Bike is fitted with NEWFREN oversized disc. Cost of disc: $300

Bike is fitted with J-COSTA variator. Cost of J.COSTA: $250

Total cost: $1150

Hence you get a Runner with stock outlook but with superb engine condition and enhanced braking parts.

However price is negotiable for serious buyers.

dear all,

 

i just serviced my belting, rollers and u-clip this morning. its the first time i opted for dr pulley's sliding rollers. but when i was riding around today, there's this rattling sound coming from the transmission area. usually there still is, but not too obvious, but after i changed, it became louder. i suspect its the sliding rollers. can anyone tell me if this is normal since i just changed?
