comments! police summon on east coast

Last night I was at a east coast park bbq pit near the food village, with my bike next to the bbq pit. Then a police car was moving along the cyclists/skaters track (wtf.), and stopping at the bbq pit. Two police came out of the car.

 

They took down my particulars. I asked them what punishment would I get, but they said just wait for letter.

 

I'm so pissed off... Isn't parking in the park should be NEA's problem?

 

And any idea what punishment I might get...?

u need to park at designated parking lots.. find a suitable well-lighted spots.. use alarm to freak away thieves..

 

police nowdays very strict.. i wash my bike at bin chute area also cannot.

regarding your summon.. i think you kena $70 fine for parking on pavement/grass patch.

all they need is ur numberplate ur particular and poof two weeks u get ur letter from tp or lta

Ya I believe they (Police) will pass the case to NParks, NOT NEA, for them to take action. So maybe juz chill out and wait for letter to come.

Motorised vehicle are not allowed inside the park. Thought this is a standard rules? Of course with the exception of Police or Npark one.

Another case of whining when in fact u KNOW WHAT U R DOING IS WRONG So just suck thumb and pay the fine... If your paranoid.. leave ur bike in ur hse and take bus... Oh and if ur paranoid too that someone might rob u in the bus.. Stay home... I cant help but laugh at ur reasons... :lol: Sorry to offend.. Who in the world is gonna steal WATER BOTTLE????

wow..that's $100 from Nparks. my friend kena b4.. oh well look at the bright side. garmen oredi give money, so that can offset your loss.

 

becareful where u park nowadays... since garmen oredi giving out money, they would also step up means to get back some.

OK found the rules at NParks

 

Restrictions relating to vehicles, etc.

11. - (1) No person shall, without the permission of the Commissioner, in any national park, nature reserve or public park :-

 

(a) bring, ride or drive a vehicle except within a carpark;

 

(b) park a vehicle except in a parking lot (designated for the parking of that class of vehicle) within a carpark;

 

© obstruct any entrance, exit, road, path, carpark or parking lot;

 

(d) ride a bicycle or use skates except on any track or path specified,by notice, for such use or any road for use by vehicles;

 

(e) ride a motorised bicycle;

 

(f) secure a motorcycle or bicycle to any plant, tree or structure that is not constructed for that purpose; or

 

(g) park a motor vehicle in any parking lot reserved for handicapped drivers when he is not a handicapped driver.

 

(2) No person shall drive, bring into or park any vehicle within a carpark otherwise than in an orderly manner with due regard to the safety of othervehicles, property and persons within the carpark.

 

(3) Any person driving or parking a vehicle within a carpark shall obey all the signs exhibited in the carpark.

 

(4) No person shall park any vehicle in such manner as to cause the vehicle to protrude beyond the boundary lines of the parking lot.

 

(5) No person shall park or stop his vehicle so as to obstruct or prevent thesmooth circulation of traffic in or around a carpark.

 

(6) In this regulation :-

"bicycle" includes any pedal cycle but does not include a child's toy vehicle used solely by a child;

"motorised bicycle" means a bicycle that is equipped with a motor and that may be propelled by muscular power or by the motor with which it is equipped, or by both;

"signs" includes all warning sign posts, direction posts or other devices forthe guidance or direction of persons driving vehicles within a carpark;

"skates" includes roller skates, roller blades, in-line skates and anyskateboard.

They can charge you for parking at common area also. You are lucky your bike never explode beside the pit. Its a motor bike not a bicycle. And wat if other park user got burned my your hot exhaust? Who to blame? And wat if someone ride bicycle and bang on your bike? Cannot claim and end up kana fine and you have to pay the person who bang you also cos YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO PARK THERE!

 

If you scared ppl steal you things then dun ride there lor. take a cab. I wonder if you hug your bike to sleep as well.....

nevertheless. i hope the rest who dun know do learn from this. and for TS, i can understand your concern. maybe investing in a 2 way alarm would put your mind at a little ease next time.

 

at least this one does not say he is unfairly fined since he's on official (permit bought for the bbq pit mah) business. so i wouldn't call it whining. well, that's my thoughts anyway..

You dun need to educate yourself with these stupid rules.. just have to look and see around... Tell u whud.. appeal to them.. Say u admit that its ur fault.. bla bla bla.. and as ur a new rider.. u dun noe such thing and u learn it the hard way.. at least the office should have told u to just park ur bike at a proper place with a stern warning but never.. just tooK ur particulars dats all... just tok BS to them.. gd luck yea... No hard feelings..

Hey bro, I have parked at east coast park at several areas on many occasions. No incidents with bike. You don't have to feel so paranoid. This is Sg, not M's**. Just don't leave any valuables in your rear box.

After reading up on so many cases of thefts and all, i also paranoid. But we cannot stay with the bike 24/7. East Coast is a highly populated place, not many thieves will be so daring, unless you have diamonds or really valuable stuff inside your box.

 

Invest in an alarm then buy some chains or locks for your box if you are really so scared.

 

By the way, you dun hav to know all the rules. Just observe your surroundings... if not then sway sway pay school fees.

 

Try to think of other reasons like park there before then kenna sabo, no parking lots available, etc etc... your water bottle reason sure cannot appeal successful one la ...

 

they will ask you, $100 fine vs Water bottle. If you dunno the rules, now u know. If u want your water bottle, pay $100.

dis is d case of d public complain so dey hv no choice, but to giv summon to TS..
