Hi , i just bought a white 14 month old downtown 200 for 9.5k. What do you guys think? is it worth or too expensive or reasonable? Mileage 12k plus.

sorry. because my friend n colleages n family keep complaining that i should not have buy this bike. Somehow i believe it worth it from my point of view after reading alot from this forum.

Downtown is a good bike. Don't worry. Now you are the owner, you take care of your steed, it will take care of you.

Used to be a owner of Downtown but had since upgraded to Xciting. All I can say is I still miss my downtown sometimes. The FC is very good. No matter how I wack also 25km/l. One full tank around 280km. That's very good for a scooter.

Welcome to Kymco Family! Hmmmm.... test your electronics make sure working. Also make sure the side stand sensor is working the way it should, I.e. engine will cut when side stand is down, can only start engine when the stand is up.

 

Have to see other more experienced bros got advice for your or not.

Bascically check for scratch and chips.

Anything electronics can be serviced.

Once go out scratch and chips cannot do anything liao.

Even if found scratches and chips also can't do anything I guess

How to access to the drainage pipe at the fuel tank hole there. Recently every times rain , the pump fuel there will flood. Try to pull out the pipe but get stuck

Thanks All. Received the bike. But the suspension got scratches, need to dismantle the whole steering column. I just let it go la. They discounting tyre change for me tmr, I got from unique motor. Very stable ride. Throttle little then balance by itself,

 

1 question. May I know what is the rpm at when riding around 80kph. Thanks

Btw. I hear that LED BULBS are illegal for motorbikes. I mean those for signal. Any advice ??

Yes. If your bike doesn't come stock with leds. It is illegal to change.

Currently a proud owner of a white Kymco Downtown 200i. Despite what others are claiming due to its not a JAPANESE BIKE OR WHATSOEVER, I love this bike. It is sleek and beautiful (for a scooter), and has great fuel economy.

The Engine so far very good.

200 and 300 shared the same engine. Only time will tell for people to recongnise it's worth. So far Downtown the best model (before Xciting) in my opinion. Styling alone really improves alot. The usual past taiwan scooter design cannot make it. Maybe just not my taste. The engine casing alone puts me off and the rims is so fugly. So the model design during and after Downtown really improves alot.

Not just the design, the engine also.

Some may feel still not as good as the japanese but its around there I guess.

Still whacking the downtown so I shall see how long it'll last.

Like what bikeyong always says.... just wack. The engine can take it.

Just ride normally, no need special attention for my case.

 

Most important is before warm up to 2 bar engine temperature don't ride hard as in hard acceleration.

Manual stated wait until 2nd bar temp then ride.

 

Sometimes really cannot wait I ride slowly as in gentle acceleration below 4500rpm to 5000rpm(DT3). Even after 2 year plus of riding.

 

Reason being engine need to warm up to operating temperature to reduce wear and tear.

 

Just ride normally during warm up and after warm up can hard rev already. Dont really need to cause you'll be faster than most car anyway.
