Juz FYI dat our local traffic cops tested their Diversion at 240km/h along L.C.K road and 1 of them was asked this qns: 'Hayabusa can travel 280km/h ten how u all catch?' He replied:' We got install a speed cam on our bike dat means at a distance of 400m we can trace the speed of the bike and if we cant catch, we would remember their licence plate no.'

Anyway juz happen to saw a guy riding this bike 2day indeed he sprayed all white wif side panniers and was wearin a white helmet-wonder if it was a Nolan helmet

hahahah u mean the diversion can actually hit 240kmh???? hahahaha overweight and big frontal area... hehhehe reminds me of a huge b52 bomber...

well doesnt matter that the b52 bomber :shades: is patrolling the skies... coz my euro fighter  would certainly outrun and outfly the big old diversion... hehehe

as for those intending to get the sofa set as ur main form of transport?? get the FAZER1000.... it rocks!!!! :gun: :bouncefire:

Advert found in Performance Bikes on the Fazer1000:

How do you define the FAzer1000? Well, its class-beating R1-derived engine, brakes, wheels and adjustable suspension mean its a sportsbike right? Then again, its naked styling and aggresive looks make it a muscle bike, doesn't it? But what about the fairing, comfortable two-up riding position and impressive tank range? Surely its a tourer? The answer is... yes, yes and yes. The FAzer1000 is all three. This is the bike that re-defines the all-rounder class. So visit your authorised Yamaha dealer for a test ride. Try a track day. In Spain. Take the Missus.

wind protection sucks, cos of my height, I am directly hit by the upswop wind on the front mini-windshield: 2 options for u if u r irritated by it,

1. spend abt $70-120 for a taller windshield which u can get from Dunlop Street or Motoworld

2. remove the original mini-windshield altogether, inwhich case, no more upswop wind into ur face, makes u feel like u r riding a Super4 or a full naked bike.

For me, I lazy to remove the windshield mainly becos the bikeshop go n stick my license plate no. on the windshield, so i cannot remove it. So either i wear full-face helmet or wear ear-plugs when i wearing std helmet.

Mileage arh, normally w my kind of riding, 80-120kph, full tank lasts 240miles / 386km without hitting reserve yet. And full tank costs $20/= zhun zhun.

Ya lah, of cos I did my research b4 I buy this bike, i know there are alot of bikes better performance then this dinosaur, but why i still like it leh?

1. its the last of the mohigans i.e. in-line 4 carburetor bike just like the kawasaki concourse. Future bikes of this cc all use EFI.

2. shaft drive babe, performance bikes generally stick to chain drive just like the blackbird, haya, R1, muscle bikes like Fazer chain drive also becos they wan it to wheelie easily to qualify for a muscle bike, so this ain't no muscle bike ok.

3. no radiator, one less maintenance chore for me to worry abt, and tis bike is not entirely air-cooled, it is also oil-cooled, tats why must always top-up engine oil when necessary. Which also explains why its no top range performance bike.

4. standard riding position almost like CB750F2, when I tried this bike at the Hong Leong showroom, wow so comfy, no wonder TP also use, so tat they can cruise all day w/o feeling fatigue. U noe, riding a touring bike, comfort is of most important.

5. 240kg is heavy rite, but tis weight is tolerable becos its shaft drive and steel frame mah, compare to ST1300(267kg), still lighter u noe. As mentioned, its a gentleman's bike, not a gungho street fighter, so weight and performance ratio is not its priority.

Yamaha design this bike is for ah pek like me, wants reliability, ez maintenance, solid performance for highway and proven history of longetivity.

BTW, XJ900's ancestor was the FJ750,FJ900,FJ1200 blue/white and black/red version which came out in 1986s till abt 1996. Then it was replace by XJ900 up till now.

hey thats the best post i have read abt the DIversion!!!! so far... telling it as it is... :)

can i add that there is no chance in the world that this bike could chase a y2k and above sports bike above 600cc... as long as the sportsbike rider would wanna run...heheh so i think the TP are lagging behind... poor little men in White... and i dont mean the NAVY :gun:

Thanks sooooo much cougar , you make me really wanna get one now haha , and of cos the first thing I will change is the windscreen , you know the TP fairing where can get at cheap price or not? Cos since it's a tourer should have a fuller fairing to top it hahaha

A few more qns, the panniers each able to hold 2 normal open face or 1 full face or not? then the dashboard wat features it have? The pillion seat comfy?

tat custom nose costs $2k, i asked Hong Leong workshop at Paya Lebar.

this is the price of the TP big fairing.

And I got my yammy diverted from Mah Motor Agency along Jln Besar for $17,800 w panniers. Its green in colour.

The panniers cannot hold std or full-face helmets, but can hold KISS or GPR those kind of 3/4 size helmets or 1/2 size scooter/harley helmets. So its better u get the bike first then buy helmet later to see if can fit into ur panniers then.

wat is col yammy diverted? as in yamaha diversion , so it means you got the bike OTR with panniers for that amount? or that you got it with the full fairing?

Does a top box look nice on the divvy?

Ya, pple like to call it divvy900, but i prefer mine call yammy diverted. Maybe Diversion means the stupid windshield diverting the windblast to your face lor!!!

Yes $17,800 is OTR includes GST,COE $559,Insurance,Panniers,no.plate,ERP unit, 6mths rd tax, transfer fee, nothing more to add. Loan interest is 5%.

Top box arh, I dun hav, but i think Givi or Nonfango aerodynamic box shld look nice, those kind that curve downwards one, i think 36ltr and not any bigger. 45ltr seems too big.

hahaha , thats a good one. Anywayz the nose got cover your feet fully or not? as in bike fall will kana leg alot?

Is there a white model of the divvy or must paint ourselve?

Would a taller windscreen do much good?

The lower fairings wat price and got any good?

pillion comfort good?

Today finally see the diversion on the road for the first time (other than TP). It rellie looks WAY better than on the picture. An Ang Mo guy rode it with yamaha panniers + top box , once the green lite cum on , he twisted the trottle and disappeared from sight immediately. by the way I was on a vtec. I think the diversion is my top choice now... though I would confirm get the fairing lowers , wonder how much issit.

Yeah..the bike looks great and feel great too..Saw one yest at Woodlands at nite. The bike was black, paniers and lower ferring..NICE!! GD luck..KEEp us updated ON PRICE!!! :shades:

Maybe the one u saw was ridden by a guy call Shaji.

I met the Storm-riders group at Marina South last Saturday. And saw this Shaji's Bike , Diversion 900 with Lower fairing, all black.

His Screen was replaced with the taller ones too.

I asked him about it, and he says he import the lower fairing from overseas, I think it was 300 bucks.

U guys may want to see the Bikes when the Storm-riders gathers, FANTASTIC displays of all kinds of Big Bikes.

No need to be pai-sey when u are there, They are nice people, though I only ride a Majesty 250...hehe

8.30 pm every Saturday, Rain or Moon; sure they are there.

Last Saturday thot maybe only few coming, because at 0830m only see 1 fella with his BMW.

But after 9.30 pm...the place packs! All type of fellas, old, young, men, womens ..

Varedaro, African Twins, BMW, TDM 900, Harleys, ST11, GW...all kinds of Bikes.

U ask them, they tell you everything about their Bikes, Nice Fellas...

Initially don't recognize Shaji's Diversion because of teh lower fairings..until someone mentioned to me...

They're meeting time around wat time , I think I going down to ask shaji about many things about the diversion haha

i dunno leh, yammy diverted is an air/oil cooled bike, put lower fairing may obstruct its cooling efficiency, unlike ST11 which is liquid cooled. So if u want lower fairing for protecting agst corrosion on ur exhaust and lower engine part, front fender extender is the best protection, else dun bother for tat kind of looks. Plastic parts are very hard to custom fit in Sg. If can fit, u try RXZ lower fairing low, cheapest option i can think of.
