Guys,

ANyone interested in a 4d3n ride ard the period of 24-dec to 31-dec.

Details for those going:

You can expect that it will bring u up almost the entire length and width of M'sia with a majority of roads out of the NSH. Probably not as relaxing as the usual 20/20, 40/40 nor will it promise the binging sessions that PFF is known for. BUt modest accomodations and food is but of course. This ride is about why i, and many fellow riders, love about riding, to soak up the sceneries and the many curves that the roads ahead brings up...

Date is open at this point, to accomodate to the majority of the riders going, but it will almost certainly be within the period.

A show of hands who's keen??

1) Jleo

2) Julius(STX)

3) Beebee(maybe riding)

Keen but pending

1) bats n wife (coz I no more driving cab just change new job)

2) mctan ( Hopefully no "mission" during this period)

Final details will be confirmed nearer to date. [/b]

TO BUGGERS,

who are interested to get tyres~ here are some speed rating tips. Can be use this guide for both cars and bikes.

Speed Rating

It is IMPORTANT that you check your speed rating before buying your tyres - as choosing a lower tyre speed rating could effect your bike handling e.g. no grips, slippery- at higher speeds

The tyre speed rating (i.e. S) is the maximum speed for which the tyre is rated. For example, the S rating identifies speeds up to 180 kmh.

Speed ratings are based on scientific tests where the tyre is run at speeds in 9.92 kmh steps in 10 minute increments until the required speed has been met.

You will find your speed rating on the side of your tyre at the end of a series of numbers - as follows:

160/55 R17 91W

Speed Rating-Kilometers/Hour

N /140

P /150

Q /160

R /170

S /180

T /190

Speed Rating-Kilometers/Hour

U / 200

H / 210

V / 240

Z / 240+

W /270

Y /300

Juz to add something that is not normally found.

I don't hv all the list like uncle SG.

These are the some that I'm keep it for my referance.

Take note that higher the speed more $$ n less life span the tire.

The weigth is for one tire max support.

Hey guys,

I have just changed my tires yesterday at Old Southern Motors... Michellin Pilot Road ZR17...front 120/60/17, rear 160/60/17... 1 set for S$300 + balancing...:thumb:

It is manufactured in '06 and it can take up to 270km/hr (according to SG's list)

The reason why i change so fast is bcos my tires hit a sharp object on sunday and went flat...repaired it with tire repair kit but i don't feel safe riding with that "worm" stuck in the tire...so decided to change for safety sake. Anyway my tires are going soon....so might as well change it.

Tried my tires yesterday and today... :thumb: :cheer:

I would recommend it...performs like BT020...but i guess it would have a shorter lifespan than BT020 (according to Custom Pte Ltd) :cheeky:

Hi Swift,

Pilot is a good tyre and shares the same characteristic as the perilli diablo- soft and have a high wear but a very good grip. Don't play corner alot with that tyre, they bold at the side much faster then the center.(used before on st11)

Pilot series have the new sport touring tyres did you check it out before you change.

Are you using the pilot ACTIV or PILOT road ??

Michellin tyres~ no need to balance the tyre already have been balanced and mark at the factory individualy.

BT020 (BT)series can last much longer then the michellin (FYI) if you want a better wear and long lasting- try BT045 for touring ($280 or lesser).
