Sim Lim Tower sure have. Today, i really wanted to go there to change my bulb. Then i realisised that it would take (2 x $1.20) for bus fare and the bulb itself would cost below a dollar i think. Not to mention the energy i would take etc. So i just gave up and went to my bike shop to change for 3 bucks.

Hey guys

I was just wondering what engine oil rating do you guys prefer. For me, i feel that

10w-40 --> Easy to start bike, but when engine is hot, feels kinda rough

20w-50 --> Slightly difficult to start, but when engine is hot, super smooth

What do you guys think? I feel like going back to 10w-40 because starting up in the morning is more important than that "smooth" feeling at higher temps. :)

You guys put mineral, semi-synthetic or fully synthetic into your bike ah? I currently put semi into my bie but wanna try fully synthetic or even mineral. Any difference?

Roid.

What brand EO you use, what rating and how much?

I am currently using Agip Super Mineral 20w-50 for $12. When starting bike abit harder but at higher temps better than 10w-50, the kinds i normally use.

OWS 900 more suitable for sportsbike. For class 2b bike, use OWS 800 will do.

Look ard advertiser's board and you will find some shops offering cheaper OWS engine oil package than unique.

Their price is not that cheap after all and once i ask them the price of YBR air filter and they told me $25. I can buy & change it myself below $10 outside. LOL

Dude. YBR air filter? Its just a piece of sponge which you just wash only! Why so ex? I havent wash my air filter sia. I will only clean every year once.

@ crazydj: Yes. $25 is way too expensive. You can get it ard $10+ if you change it at motordiam but if u change it urself, u can get it below $10.

The sponge is part of the air filter. You need to remove the bike side cover 1st and unscrew to remove a black cover. After that you can take out your air filter together with the sponge. YBR air filter cannot be wash --> you will understand after you take the air filter and see it for yrself.

Hey guys!

I went to change my YBR's engine oil today myself. I went to get Maxima Fully Synthetic Extra 4T 10W40 from Mustafa and went to fill her up. And my i was amazed. I was so shocked, my engine sounded like it didnt have any oil in it and there was no resistance for the piston to move! I could actually feel how smooth it was! I was so eager to ride it, i just wore my slippers and my helmet and rode off around my neighbourhood to test it out. Its the first time i'm using fully synthetic and the first time i changed the oil myself. Gear changing was very smooth, the best ever for my bike.

Perhaps all Fully Synthetic oils are like this? I wouldnt know. I'm just happy my engine is running so smooth!

@ crazydj:Maxima is a good engine oil..Normally ppl change fully syn engine oil every 5000km. But for your case, you say u change it every 1k so not worth it to get a fully syn engine oil.

Hi guys! I got a few questions to ask

1) When my bike from cold or if never turn on for more than 6 hours and i engage gear, the will be a loud "pak" sound. If from neutral to gear 1, my engine sometimes stall. To avoid this, i have to pump my clutch before i change gears.

2) When i start my bike, from cold or after a few hours, my idling is about 10k to 1.1k. After a 15 minute rough ride in the morning, my idling will be about 1.8k to 2k. What is wrong here? My engine feels very powerless and not smooth. This happened after Shell changed from Power 98 to Fuelsave 98. Could this be the reason?

Thanks guys!

Only can give suggestion for this one.... when bike cold start the idling is different from warm up... so what i used to do is adjust the A/F mix screw when engine is already warmed up with riding to suitable idling...

Downside is that when cold start need to maintain open throttle abit to warm the engine up.... or can use choke.
