I have a very weird bike.

I never use the choke. Never. But whenever i try to turn on the bike with the choke on, it will NEVER START.

If the engine is turned on and i turn on the choke, my engine will die.

Its not that i am complaining or anything. I will never need to use the choke. Its just that why is this on happening on my bike?

The function of the choke is to enrich the fuel mixture that goes to your engine for combustion....

If you do not require the choke, that means your bike has just the right amount of fuel for start up....

No worries buddy!!!

My bike also at cold start and very very low RPM got a squeaking sound. If the rpm more than 1 then the sound gone. Normal?

Wash YBR carb how much normally ah?

hi guys,

been riding my yrb for over a year. recently, i've been getting a rattling sound coming from the front. feels very rough. the effect comes and goes. quite unpleasant. any idea what's the problem?

Rattling sound from where? The engine? Like pa-pa-pa-pa-pa? If so, seriously, go get your bike checked. The YBR is quite a silent bike.

YBR save alot petrol ??

That depends. I weigh "heavier now" (i used to weigh 80kg), am always opening full throttle and change gears above 5krpm. And i use 40km/l.

If i lost weight, ride like and unkle and took away my box, it would surely reach 50 plus. I did ride like an unkle once and was 80kg and was getting 52km/l with box. :)

i'm not sure where it's coming from. somewhere in front, maybe the electrical components under the display panels. the sound comes and goes. it's like a buzzing, sandy sound. i think if i go shop and ask also difficult.

Don't be daft. Vote for change.

What are your bikes speed vs RPM??

Mine YBR curently gives me : 68km/h - 5RPM

82KM/h - 6RPM

It really depends on what gear you are at. For me, at 100km/h gear 5, my RPM is only at 7k.

I sometimes get the squeaking sound too. My shop tells me it's due to powder from the break pads and it's harmless.

are we supposed to change the spark plug regularly like engine oil? how often?

Bro, my squeaking sound comes from the engine while stationary.

Changing EO and spark plug depends on the feeling inside you. I just "know" when it is time to change. Normally about 3 months? I use to change every month but now no job waiting for school to open so dont ride much. I ever never change EO for 6 months and the thing inside dried up. But very smooth. Dunno why. Up to you. one month to be safe, 3 months max if everyday riding.

I ever ask my rider members during NS. They said that i was a cheap skate and put it it my face,

" EO and spark plug so cheap. At most only 15 dollars a month. Don't forget only 1 liter EO and 1 spark plug. If big bike okay but remember you are riding small bike"

I just shrugged off their comments and i know exactly what your bike needs. After much riding your YBR, you know exactly when you need to go for maintenance.

Thanks for the reply dj. I actually have not changed spark plug since i bought my bike which is just over a year now. Is there a need to change it after a certain distance travelled, and will it be bad for the bike?

Dude. One year? Just change your spark plug already. Only $2 don't be cheap please. Haha. You can feel the difference. Like the "spark" stronger.

If you want to know exactly, the manual states that you are to replace the spark plug every 12,000km.

i can't find that in my manual. anyway i have a long way to go to hit 12,000 haha.

the difference is only in the starting up of the bike right?

No. The spark plug provies the spark for you engine to run. Your bike or any other petrol bike cannot run without a spark plug. But ultimately, its up to you bro.

  • 1 month later...

Semi-synthetic is more than good enough for YBR. Although fully synthetic best ah. Super smooth. But feels very light.

I cycle between my EO. See my feeling. But i go from mineral, semi then full. I dont go straight from fully syn to mineral.

The manual says replace the brake fluid every 2 years and the brake hose every 4 years.

what does it actually mean, semi and fully?

Engine oil is seperated into 3 types. Mineral oil, semi-synthetic oil and fully synthetic oil.
