Our phantom TA200 recommends oil change intervals at 4000km. However, many practice to have them change it at 2000km for the "just in case" its a normal industry practice across countries across various model of bikes and oils.

Some of the reasons that makes us reason to get the oil changed earlier

1. No oil filter. Contaminants gets circulated.

2. Singapore = City riding = extreme engine conditions = faster deterioration of oil .

3. Only 1 liter of oil circulating.

4. Lower quality oil used.

5. Our gaskets are leaking(get them fixed or monitor the levels vigilantly!)

6. Our phantom "burns oil". As experienced by some phantom owners

Our phantom TA200 recommends to use only high detergent, quality motor oil certified on the container to meet or exceed requirements for API Service Classification SE, SF or SG. It is not necessary to use additives.

What does this mean?

Each new SAE API oil standard generally meets or exceeds all previous API oil standards. Thus SAE API "SL" meets or exceeds the "SH" and "SJ" SAE API standards.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Taken from https://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/MotorOil/Car_Care/AskMobil/Differences_Between_Car_and_Motorcycle_Oil.aspx

What is the difference from motorcycle oil than car oil?

Motorcycle oils and passenger car oils are very similar, with the exception of a couple of areas that are key to motorcycle operation. The first area concerns common sumps, or the use of motor oil, to lubricate and cool the transmission. As you know, in a passenger car the transmission is lubricated by an ATF fluid, which has frictional properties required for transmission operation. In a motorcycle, where the transmission may be lubricated by the engine oil, an engine oil that does not have the same level of friction modification (for fuel economy) of a typical passenger car engine oil will provide better transmission performance in terms of transmission lock-up and slippage. So motorcycle engine oil does not contain the friction modifiers of a passenger car engine oil. The second area of concern for motorcycle engine oils is that they tend to shear (breakdown viscosity) more quickly than a typical passenger car.

In short, if you are not sure if they use additives that would benefit passenger cars and be dreadful for it to be in your motorcycle, dun use it.

For motorecycle EO...look for 4T..or JASO MA stds.on the labels esp. for synthectic EO. those with JASO MA certified fit for bikes..(JASO is Japanese oil std.)

But dont believe everything printed on label....buy from trusted shops safer.

some famous brand dont hav JASO MA std...but they claimed superior quality..its your money..u call the shots.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time:dot:

You were right about esso 5000 mate. Btw, where you did your grounding for your ex ta and how much?

Esso 5000 gives balanced engine power and also fuel consumption which most of us wants out of our TA 200.....Hmm, i miss riding my TA200......josh wanna exchange our bike or not!!!!...lol.

I did my grounding at Ah Koon bro coz its a matter of just a few kms from my office. Was told that TA200 has no need for 5 point grounding and etc. I think i just did 1 or 2 point, can ask jtzx bout it. Btw i forgot the price bro.

gasket is to contain the eo in your engine. if ur engine is consumine eo, getting this changed will usually nail it. :)

Lock is very troublesome. Phantom so common in singapore but uncommon in malaysia. but ur choice la :thumb:
