I just went kulai yesterday. Together with the birds (cbr1100xx and a hayabusa), of course the bike cannot catch up with them 200+km/h constant, but the 17 years old cbr400rrK is going at 180km/h constant at first for 10 minutes, then scare the bike cannot tahan the stress and dono the history of the bike, so I decided to play safe and go 150km/h constant.

Tested its speed along 2nd link causeway when going in, went above 210km/h, the rpm only at 11-12k. Still can go a long way, but I no ball to try. First time I went so fast before. My fireblade R model last time only can go 195km/h then power cut already. ALong the way back from Kulai, I tried again and it goes up above 210km/h without hesistate but I never trottle more becos I am a new rider at such speed, and I am not use to the speed plus I am with a pillion both of us without any gears not even glove so I closed trottle again.

I estimate this bike at least at reach 230-240km/h. Because from 150-190km/h it rise very fast and is very willing to go. Fireblade (my R model last time) from 150-190km/h need to wait quite some time. When I reach 210km/h trottle only abt 60%, not yet full trottle yet. I guess I have to get use to the bike first, get proper gears, then try again when I have more experience at such speed. Really find this bike quite amazing, 17 years old engine yet going strong. Of course I dont intend to use this bike at the extreme speed, I am killing it I guess if I do so. I am happy of I can maintain 150-160km/h and ride relaxly for short touring trips. Anyway $2000+ bike price plus spending $700+ to service it and rebuild it, quite worth the money already.

Going short trip to KL or Genting at 150-160km/h I guess should have no problem. At most bring spare coolent and water to top up if need. Cos the only thing to worry is heat for bike of such a age.

why bother with him, in the first place.. if he understood how inline4 engines work, he won't stand a chance against u with his v4 in a drag race.

The V4 is a heavier bike though it is slightly shorter in length than the blade. Maybe better handling comes from those USD forks which are so prone to leaks.

He can say what he wants about his V4. don't bother to waste ur time with him.
