i ordered the pump thru ah boy from honda agent.. bout 100bux.. self DIY fix.. m y old blade managed 280KM b4 reserve.. and its a L model.. R model can get 300odd b4 reserve.. my buddy ever renew the jets in the carb n FC sees great improvement..

 

 

wat do u mean by renewing jets? i asked my mechanic he said might be my air filter and he asked me to change. i asked abt knn air filter he said ard $80. btw do u guys use regular spark plugs or iridium plugs? i thought of using iridium but the mech said use regular is better so i dunno which to use. mine is L model btw and thanks for the help.

my full tank ard 32-35 bucks. i ride on normal rds 80-90 then expressway 100-120. tt shldnt cause the petrol to consume too quickly right?

Thanks. Will ask my Mech to have a look the next time I go down. But could someone advice me.. when servicing the carb what exactly do they do? just clean it out? or is there any parts replacment etc?

Hi all.....

 

I'm riding a CBR400RR....Got the bike for about 6 months and I have spent nearly 2k on repairs only.

Yet I'm still facing problems with my bike.

 

1) Fork

I have problems with my fork where it doesn't bounce well. There was once I saw a leak. Hence sent to bike shop to change oil and shield. Few weeks later.... leak again. This time round sent again bike shop.... Then got problem again.... it doesn't bounce at all....

 

2) Brake

I service my brake so many times already..... Even change the front calipers. My brake is terrible... No matter how hard I pull the lever... it will not have a strong grib... The braking is very dangerous as I could never be able to brake in time if there's any emergency as the brake won't grib....

 

3) Starting of bike

Sometimes my bike can start.....sometimes cannot...

My fuse will burn every month....

I sent to shop UNBELIEVABLE many times! I have changed into a new battery....new amplifier....new coil.... change a couple of wire...blah blah blah....but yet still I have this problem. Also I can't start with my headlight on...

 

4) NO power

I can only wrack the bike a gear 1 and 2....after that cannot wrack already... The bike simply has no power....

Its very frustrating when you open the throtte to the fullest and try to wrack...but the bike is still maintaining the same speed or it only increase speed a little.... I has sent the bike for full servicing for 4 times WITHIN 6 MONTHS!!! I have even change new oil filter...air filter... and exhaust pipe....still same!!!

 

5) Bumping

Do you guys have problems with bumps? I know bikes will bumps on uneven roads... However mine is very bad. Even on straight expressway...my bike will bumps all the time... I'm not talking about small or light bump.... the bike will bump quite bad and its all the time... I have send to press the rim....I give up...and change rims...change tyres.....YET its still the same....

 

6) Handlings

wah thats sad. 2k already ah? maybe u shld try sanfu at kaki bukit, unique motors at paya lebar or ah loo motors at safra tampines. im lucky to get my L model 2 months ago n besides having to change my water pump for $200 i got no problems at all. hopefully they wont start coming.

iridium plugs juz last longer.. save u the trouble to change the plug often..

the firing is more uniform and stable.. that y some people say increase in performance..

however u hav to inspect the plug gap and the colour occasionally..

number 5 is my bikeshop and i can tell u its ****! full of ****! dun ever go there buy bike or do anything to ur bike. even when i go pay installment i park my bike at unity also dun wan stay at number 5 for long! its a **** shop

I used to have this problem. Connections koyak liao. Ended up I chose to purchase a new wire harness. Cost est.$350. I know one mech who has done replacements of wire harness for quite a few bikes, can intro you if you like.

 

Hope you manage to solve the problems soon. Anyway, agree with Aalex82, find a repeutable shop and stick with them till all the problems are resolved. Each Mech will have a different opnion of what is wrong. Different shops will give you different answers, if keep switching .. the problems may not actually be resolved.

price of it. plugs itself can last very long. by changing normal plugs, can get more mileage than a set of 4 iridium that never been change. imo performance mostly depends on the condition of the plugs. msia vpower is rm2.15 per L? then 35/2.15=16.2l. u can pump so much? check any leak or u need to service the carb. the needles should be like straws.

regarding the starting problem.. u might wana check out ur starter relay or the starter carbon.. all these contribute to poor starts.. if u press the starter and hear "click click" very soft or dont hear at all.. it could be the relay..
