Hi guys,as above,i was caught for not displaying off peak coupons on a monday morning,now very lost.is thr any info on the penalty,solutions or thread which i can refer to?goin for interview with IO soon.Need help desperately....thanks in advance.

You want to know the penalty, look behind the coupon. It's all there.

 

Fine up to 10k. No chance to siam, get ready the cash or go jail if cant pay it off.

dont understand why ppl always come here saying "i committed X offence. how ah? can appeal? what are the penalties?"

 

if u prepared to commit the offence means u are taking a risk... and if kena caught... just pay up.... if dont want to pay up...... then dont even commit the offence in the first place.

I think the courts do accept NETS, but don't quote me.

 

I've been fined for speeding at the courts. After sentencing, you have a choice to pay or not to pay. Flexible.

 

If you choose not to pay, the police officer will help you calculate how many days you will need to be behind bars to make up for the fine.

 

For not displaying off peak coupons, the sentencing is very standard unless you have very very mitigating reasons (I couldn't think of any).

 

In any case, if you decide freedom and a clean record is more valueable than money, prepare $10000 if you are a first time offender.

 

NETS maximum if only $2000 per day. No credit card facilities. So it will be cold hard cash.

It seems like Judges presiding over traffic offense cases are very numb to mitigation plea. I cannot think of any plea that is reasonable for not displaying off peak coupon or speeding.

 

If you do not hire a lawyer, the Judge will have no interest in you at all. She or he might not even look at you, save for your plea.

 

Engaging a lawyer don't come cheap.

seen a lot lo on the road lo especially at the timing just after 7am. and the way they driving r like driving into hell like that cus they super rush for time cus it's over 7am and still need to pray to god that no TP will spot them.

 

wth. how i wish i can hold my HP and snap their car and send it to my frn who is working in TP HQ.

 

so, when wan to buy a OPC, alws prepare yourself with the $20 coupon! bet you don't have any valid reason to appeal. not even can say you fetching your sick frns or relative or family to hospital.

 

anyway, there was one day at 7:05am while i was travelling to office. i was speeding above the speed limit then a TP zoom by the side of me but he decided not to stop me. cus he saw a OPC car in front of me without coupons! hahaha! guess catching a OPC is far better than catching me. the commission/rewards is much higher! hahaha~

if not mistaken, i had read that there is already someone posted in this fourm before, regarding this same issue, not displaying peak coupons.

 

i sure even after this, there will be still some who still tries to outrun the law.

Tell the IO that you are trying ur luck to save that tiny bit of money...

Say u wan to drive car but at the same time save alot of money as possible. I recommend you not to pay the fine.. just sit inside for free ..food all provided..Dun worry.. No need to pay.. When ur out... Tell us ur experience cannn :dot:

just like parking coupon.50cent dun put end up 30dollar.

 

some $ just have to give cannot siam.

 

opc car plate so bright and red cannot miss 1.

From wat i read frm LTA is max 5k for NOT displaying coupons,max 10k for INVALID coupons.for my case is did not DISPLAY...And i REALLY 4got due to certain reason...i showed TP that i have dozens of off peak coupons when i was caught...and i dun need to save dat pathetic 20 -.-" But still i nd to confirm with any1 with similar experiance....

my friend kena bout 10k dat time.The authority takes a very strict view in cases like dis dats wat i heard.If im nt wrong,even got come out paper regarding cases like dis.U can try appeal but i doubt it wul be successful.Best of luck trying

I don't see a mitigating factor in all this. Furthermore, you have supplementary licences in your car so there should be no excuse at all.

 

I too own an off-peak car and one of the most basic responsibilities of driving one is to display the coupon during peak hours. There should be no reason to forget.

 

Like all the brothers here said, just bite the bullet and pay the fine. The least fine I've seen for a first timer (even with rock-solid reasons) is $850. Others have been fined $4K++.... Just prepare the cash and consider yourself wiser...

no chance for you to not be charged.

 

break the law means break la, purposely or not still is break the law what.

 

you'll know how much to be fined when u in the court room, all same/similar kinds of traffic offences will be in same court room one... if people infront fined heavy, you'll get the same.
