Bought a CB125F from Boon Siew recently... Thought that going through an authorised retailer would mean the quality of the bike is more assured and that things would be done properly. However, my experience seems to suggest otherwise.

Bought some accessories through Boon Siew since $200 of the cost is included in the package (it's not a free $200 voucher as I'm sure they already factored it in when pricing the motorbike). Was told they get the stock from Lim Ah Boy and Chong Aik. Went down to Chong Aik and chose my items, subsequently texted my sales rep about which items I wanted. Also asked him to obtain a P-plate for me to show that I am a new rider (gotten 2B license 1.5 years ago but did not ride since then). He told me okay and I subsequently asked again if the items were obtained and he replied in the affirmative.

Went down to collect my bike, noted that some of the items I ordered were missing including the P-plate. When I asked him about it, then he told me it was out of stock. What if I had just obtained my license? Then I won't be able to ride back.

Paid the outstanding balance in cash and asked for a receipt. He said they didn't provide any. When I asked how do I use my warranty for defective products, he told me there is no warranty for the bike accessories.

Went down to collect the motorbike. I was about to leave when I suddenly realised I wasn't given the bike manual. Asked about it and he told me that it is "out of stock", but he will pass me a copy when stock is in. I thought it strange that a manual, which should come with each individual bike, is stockpiled separately. I was also aware that if I had forgotten to ask about the manual, he would have conveniently omitted it to my detriment.

After I went home, I did a check and found that contrary to his claim, the top box has a warranty of 2 years and helmet 5 years. Messaged him again to pester him for proof of purchase and my bike manual. Went on about how the purchase is company to company and there is no receipt between them (really?!). No reply about when I'm going to get my manual.

I am going to keep chasing and update regarding the progress.

This is the first time I'm buying a bike so I have no other experiences to compare but definitely seems way short of what I would expect from an "authorised dealer". Very disappointed.
