There are a few in the forum. PPL not really worth it cause if you do not maintain a certain amount of flying time in your Log Book, you lose it, YFC rent their planes out if I am not wrong at about $300 an hour.

Cheers

And i think no point convert it to singapore PPL due to singapore rent plane is very expensize and don't have to air space for u to fly nav.... maybe u can do touch and go a few time and a few round of the triangle from airport to btm hill than woodland and back to airport....

other air space of singapore we also cannot use...

if i not wrong and this is what i hear from other. only ex-airforce pilot can have the clearance to sentosa area and the other airport....

in malaysia if got extra cash rent the plane go navi trip more fun.....

at one time I was very interested in powered paragliding :-

http://www.flyaboveall.com/paramotor.htm

Which is basically a small engine with propellor strapped behind yr back & a paraglider or parachute. You can take off any where, fly to a certain height, switch off the engine any time to save fuel & use thermal flow or the wind to gain height and stay air borne. I once saw a video clip of a bunch of enthusiast who flew from hongkong to Beijing on a tank of petrol. Coz they fly up to a certain height in the sky, switch off the engine, then use the wind generated by the earth rotation to fly.

Batu Pahat also got training school in this. Its $50 per hour to rent the equipment, but must passing their licence first. A brand new set of the powered paraglider cost about the same as a new S4 bike.

I think somewhere after the 2nd link there is this small dirt strip for people doing ultra light flying. I think Desaru also have.

question:

when you get the PPL, is it a necessity to clock some hours to renew or is it just a requirement of the flying club? clocking 1hr/2mths dun sound that bad... but gets pretty routine and sickening after awhile right?

and can ya rent planes w/o being a member of the club?
