Exit Ayer Hitam (think it is like almost 100km from the start of the highway)

After gantry turn left and keep going straight. U will pass through some towns but juz keep going straight.

After say 30km, u should reach liao.

There is the unofficial 'twin towers' there belonging to a mosque.

Hopes this helps.

When u see Carrefour on the left, its about to turn left to the NShighway, I was wondering Y u don choose to go by Tuas 2nd link, from there after the custom, go straight till the end after passing 2 toll points, turn left to NShighway, faster and easier that way.

After u exit Ayer Hitam gantry turn left and keep going straight, u will see a big florist on the left. There will be times u come to a town, but not bata pahat, until u come to a mosque, there is a junction, turn right u will see a big shopping centre call THE SUMMIT.

Not much to do in Bata Pahat beside the Wet World , cause is mainly a fishing village or somehow. I use to go there as my friend who work in singapore stays there and I used to frequent his family restaurant. There is a jetty (nick Lovers' bridge) but the road reaching there is kind of difficult for big bikes.

Why don u join the trip organise by tt6389 on the 7th October this sat?

For food lovers, I have a few suggestions:

(Difficult to give directions though, just ask the locals when you are there)

1) There's a malay restaurant called "Nasi Briyani Power" at Taman Soga that serves excellent Briyani :thumb:

2) Another place worth visiting for Chendol & ABC (Air Batu Campur) is located at the old bus station at Jalan Omar. (hope its still there, haven't been there in a long time)

3) Nice wantan mee at the corner coffee shop near the old ODEON cinema. Another famous one would be Ah-See wantan mee at Jalan Jenang

4) Pasar Malam starts at about 6pm on Saturdays at Pesta (Jalan Bakau Chondong)(

-err... rather odd thing, but for anybody on long term medication (e.g. hypertension, diabetes etc) , you can visit Farmasi Murni at Taman Bukit Pasir. Its a huge pharmacy & genuine medicines are cheap there. I used to help my colleague buy diabetic test strips there, & they are less than half the price in Singapore. Can take a look if you want to buy vitamins etc.

-A Carrefour also just opened there, but i don't think there's much to offer there for Singaporeans...

-SUMMIT is currently the one-and-only shopping center there. Can drop by if you wanna do some shopping for cheap clothes. (I would compare its theme similar to Far East Plaza in Singapore... ). Ladies would go crazy at the variety of cheap shoes there. There is a guarded parking at the rear of the shopping center. I think its RM1 per entry. Relatively safe...

Bike accessory shops:

- There's one shop near the PROJET petrol station when you are near the BP town (on the right side when coming from Air Hitam). Can get GIVI boxes there

- Another one on Jalan Sultanah opposite Ai Chun Primary School (its also near the BP Fire station). LOTS of accessories for Cubs. Also have some riding gear. Cheap but... err quality inspect youself. I believe they have Thai INDEX helmets too.

- One more next to RONG CHENG confectionery at Jalan Mohd Akil. Don't remember the shop name

*BP is my hometown where I spent the first 17 years of my life. I hope you guys enjoy your adventure there. Its a relatively quiet & safe town. Sorry I am not able to give full directions .. I know many of these places like the back of my hand, but its difficult to write out the directions... anyway, take it as an expedition/adventure & try to hunt down those places I suggested... hehe enjoy!

I wonder if there are any brothers here who is familiar with Batu Pahat to organise a ride up - I guess its a pretty short ride. go there makan and visit the Tua Pek Kong temple and Famous Bakery (Tong Seng Bakery) at Jalan Shabandar. I'm not familiar with that place unfortunately.

Hopefully can get some durians while we're there
