Did I commit these offences?

1. I was trying to overtake a car at the PIE (mofo tailgater behind me) and didn't realise that I was overtaking at the speed cam area! When I looked at my speedo, 95km/h. Hopefully the bike says 95, but the true speed is just 90... But lets say my speedo is accurate, is exceeding 5km/h a demerit-able point offence?

 

2. I was reaching a traffic light, it turned amber, duno whether to chiong or to brake. If I brake, confirm will skid, so I decided to chiong instead so when I crossed the first traffic light, it was still amber, once past the junction, it was red. There was a camera there (at the corporation road exit there) but I did not notice any flash lights. But then again, it was in the day. So did I commit an offence here as well?

 

Class 3A and Class 2B license here at stake. Sorry but really, those were really 没办法的办法 situation i was in. I pride myself on being a safe rider but if I had chosen not to overtake the car/jam brake I don't know if I will still be here asking you all questions!!

1) Exceeding 5km/h is still considered speeding.. However it won't really b a demerit point offence.. Depends de actually, sometimes they will send u a warning letter.. Sometimes the real summon actually comes.. But 95km/h should b fine.. I've seen so many cars going pass at 100km/h also nothing..

 

2) I've encountered the same problem before.. Juz wait lor, if no flash lights then juz pray for the best.. Wait around 2-3 wks then will noe liao.. But 1 lesson to learn here, always slow down when approaching junctions.. Skidding and beat red lights are 2 things we wouldn't want to happen...

Don't worry, 2B bikes speedo meter abit ngiao.. Unless

u doing a 140km/h lane 1 and pass the camera which i did few years back.. pretty stupid actually but i paid the fine & got the demerit points...

if its amber and u r in the middle of the junction, u r SAFE.. plus, most of these camera sometimes no more film...

1.) Exceeding 5km/h should be ok if im not mistaken as i would always ride at 98km/h on a 90km/h e-way...Its my comfort speed.

Other riders please correct me if i'm wrong.

 

2.) Whether its an offence onot have to wait for a month to see if there's any tp letter for you. But my advise is always n i mean always slow down when ur coming to a traffic light. This will always put u in a safe spot.

 

All in all just try to keep to the speed limit and be on the furthest left or 2nd furthest left lane and always be on the lookout for other rd users whether they are !$#@!@ or safety rd users...gd luck man..

Hmm din notice its the PIE Corporation Exit junction u talking about.. I've been using this junction almost everyday for the past decade.. So far I never seen the camera doing its work... Hahahaa...

so far.. for me:

 

1) the +/- 10km/h for the speed limit applies, means most of the time i exeeds to just below 100km/h for 90km/h zones and below 90km/h for 80km/h zones.. no problem so far.. only got a warning for 86km/h in the KPE tunnel which is 70km/h zone..

 

2) gena countless times, see green light then suddenly amber.. sharks.. bo bian chiong ah!! as long as when u pass the first traffic light its still amber or JUST turn, really JUST, as in only 1 - 2 secs when i turned red.. should be find.. so far so good.. heng heng *touch wood* no problem

Actually, a red light camera will only flash when you cross the pedestrian crossing after the traffic light turns red. Not only that you have a leeway of around 1-2secs should you enter after it turns red..So if you entered the junction after the light changes, you're pretty much safe.

is it your first offence in speeding? if your first offence and since it is 5 km, you would get a warning letter. a friend of mine was speeding by 30km/h and he received a warning letter since it is his first time.

1) I dun think you will get snapped. Cos plus 10km and your bike 2B the speed discount 5%.

 

2) Dun think you got snapped. Bike not so easy to trigger the sensor. Plus you WILL DEFINATELY see the flash unless you riding with eyes closed.....

true true the flash cannot be avoided. even bright sunlight also cannot avoid the flash.

I once travelled at 77km/h when the speed limit is 60km/h.. I realised it after passing the camera .. No used being paranoid or remorseful .. Juz waited for the welcoming letter but it didnt come .. So im safe .. Now being more observant on road yah ..

i learnt from my lesson. got chased by a voluntary police officer and riding a diversion 900, learnt that he is also a forum member here. He booked me for beating traffic light while i was delivering a missing item: Hot Fudge Sundae to a little girl. worse, was helping fellow colleague to deliver. vouched not to work as a delivery rider anymore, not worth the risk of losing license and life.

 

now, i will slow down at every junctions. always be prepared to brake. coz u'll nv know who is watching u. It's also for own safety. that time, 2b and 3 were still under probation. riding/driving in fear for a year, cannot afford to get any demerit points and I got through. when driving, I even asked the back seat passengers to fasten seat belts else i wun move off

 

Now, i have a problem, it is when a car behind u is following so close upon reaching a junction, i get the most longest and stressful 3-4 seconds ever, praying it wun hit my backside when the light turns amber when i m on 1st or 2nd arrow.

Huh then always green ah hmmm also good idea hahaha. Aiya ok one la next time more alert lor. 12 points is ok la. Never kana kuku driver piang is much better than kana 12pts. Somemore 12pt you still have enough rite. Ride guai guai for 1 year lor hohoho. SG road if they really wanna catch give you 100pts also no use. Cos they always plant camera at 60km/hr road.

haha. last time when i was 18 and just got my class 3, i borrowed my brother car out. went past an amber light, i confirm no flash that time, but i saw the lens like got some flicker.

i know if the E-way speed is 90 u can go 100. if 80 u can go 90. its like 10 more. according to one of my attachment advisors they told me has got to do with rim size.

 

if car rims change the size, the speed on the speedo will not be accurate anymore. thats why the leeway of 10kmh.

i ever accidentally tested the speed cam tat i went 115km/h unknowingly.

lucky it nvr flash n from then on i nvr slow down to 90 to pass speed cams.

100km/h is fine.

stick ur foot over ur rear number plate when u know u have to beat red light.. -.= unless ur riding some big bikes which ur foot cannot reach behind..
