The ultimate solution is to jury rig the camera's power supply (5V USB) into the bike battery. Unlimited recording time. Just get a power converter/accessory plugset from Mustafa to get the 5V supply. you'll have a couple spare 12V sockets to play with too.

I have an RC aircraft camera that besides the internal battery and USB charging port, has a special set of extra copper contacts meant for tapping into the aircraft's internal battery.

 

From what I've read on the net this camera can record while charging through the USB port, or else just jury rig the battery terminal or use the aircraft attachment. Pretty simple stuff; doing DIY hazard lights is more dangerous.

 

All you need is a 12V - 5V converter and that's it. $26-30 from Mustafa and you get 2 USB ports and 2 car cig lighter sockets.

 

The reason why I haven't done it is that I recently lost interest in group outings.

hmmm... sounds complicated for yours.. DIY hazard light is much simpler.. just take the wire from original blinker and to the 2 signal.. settled..

I find it quite ironic that I get ignored by certain persons who I used to plan almost nightly 2-wheeled adventures with. Of course, you can have fun applying newfound knowledge and terminology to your own future endeavours while putting aside people and objects that you do not wish to retain.

 

How quaint, that I get my equipment physically damaged at your place before group activities cease altogether. A charming sentiment, indeed.

And I'm joining a charity ride on Sunday afternoon that was planned eons ago. I have not had the chance to wash my bike in so long I can't remember when I did it the last time, so that tells you it's bad busy

What's a time-attack run?

 

Is it like a time trial race where individual riders take the best time of 4 runs in separate runs, or all the riders race together and winner takes all?

 

I must say I've never actually raced on public roads before, only on the proper race-track. I'm not very comfortable with going neck to neck with other riders in an uncontrolled environment, albeit as exciting as it sounds.

 

Lastly, do you guys race for money? I mean, is there like a pot that everyone puts a hundred bucks into and the winner takes all? Kinda like our trackdays... Miss those days... Easy money.

Yeah sure. I got someone ten thousand miles away dying right this moment and I'm relying on remote-controlling her friend (more or less) to save her and her child.
