Hi guys,

 

Has any riders here tried the iRidez AC75 from TechGearSG?

 

The picture quality seems quite good and best of all, it's waterproof. Thought of getting 1 for myself and can use on both my bike and car as well.

 

search the ebay. You can find similar product at almost half the pricing.

Did you watch watch the video in HD version? the default youtube video streaming is in the lowest quality setting to save bandwidth. The video was shot at 30FPS at 720P HD mode.

 

Anyway the Tachyon is at 1/3 the price of a GoPro, so you cannot expect the same quality as GoPro action camera.

Yes buddy, i did watch it on Youtube itself at 720P. Maybe my verdict is not a fair one as i had compared it to my Itronics ITB-100HD instead which is installed in my car.

 

I am still looking at a good cam for bike's usage and seems to be leaning on getting a car DVR.

I am using the camera mainly as a "Onboard Unit" to record for evidence just in case if accident happens and there is dispute. Anyway I delete all the videos when the memory card is full. To me the image quality is acceptable and importantly it fits my budget, other appealing feature its small, portable and waterproof.

 

There are high end action camera from Tachyon built for motorcycle riding, its 1/2 the price of GoPro, you can check out youtube for the video quality.

Main issue with car camera will be water proofing. And the lens is prone to water spots which will be hard to remove.

I think it is due to the fish eye lens effect. Not sure what is the correct term but basically necessary to achieve the 180 degree view

I use a GOPRO camera attached to my fuel tank using suction cup mount. I tried mounting on top of my helmet at first.

go pro in my opinion freezes too often....but quality of video is very good...so either you have a nice recording of your action or you are in for a shock when you realize nothing is recorded...

exactly...i had such case twice. i.e. set to 20mins/clip loop . during a 3hr+ drive, i got a few clips. however, from the file timings for the files, I lost part 2 and part 4 of the clips..now i simply set to 1 file until card full.

In over one year of my ownership of the gopro hero 3 white, it only freeze up once. Try updating ur firmware as well as make it a habit to format the card in the camera before the first use.
