Hey, can anyone of you seasoned scrambler riders fill me in with a lil info on the maintenence of a scrambler, say a Wr200 and a XL/XR200?

Im really thinking of getting a scrambler but my friends who ride all have the misconception that scramblers cost a lot to maintain. so help me guys!

thank you!

XR of course 4 stroke and fuel sipper

Always ride safely and defensively.

Repair bike cheap and fast,

Repair body expensive and slow.

Is the Wr2 hardy, saying the previous owners have taken gd care of the bike, will the parts fail easily?

What Im worried about is that the scram will have parts failing often, costing me money and less time with the bike.

anyone have any inputs on this?

Is just matter of time i can say that the parts fail.. if u always whack here whack there.. no service done regularly.. all the best lo.. bike sure gt lotssss problem de..

Well wr200 is a 2 STROKE bike.. 2 STROKE parts tend to wear off much easiler as it works DOUBLE the speed compare to 4 STROKE and it burns oil much faster as well..

And therefore it require 2T to cool the engine unlike 4 stroke bike no need.

2 STROKE bike is more POWERFUL definately but block, piston, crankshaft of the bike tends to wear off DOUBLE the faster compare to a fourstroke bike:) tat's where the maintainance comeeeesssssss...but if service regularly is ok one.. dun worry:)

Offroad purpose, can consider wr2 which gt more power..

But much more for transport then off road.. i reccommand xl/xr200 which is much practical and lower fuel comsumption which will expect to have lesser power..

tat's my part..

haha.. ride safe!
